✨ Invited Lecturer – Pre-Day Course ✨

📌 I’m deeply honoured to be an Invited Lecturer at this year’s EUROSPINE Pre-Day Course, presenting on “Physiotherapy for Acute and Chronic Low Back Pain.”

🎯 Low back pain remains one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Its management cannot rely on one discipline alone — it requires an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together physiotherapists, spine surgeons, pain specialists, and researchers for comprehensive patient care.

🧠 Physiotherapy plays a central role — not as an isolated treatment, but as part of an evidence-based, biopsychosocial model that integrates movement, education, and active patient participation to promote long-term recovery and resilience.

🤝 Collaboration between professionals is the key to transforming spine care — from reducing pain to restoring function, confidence, and quality of life.

🙏 Grateful to contribute to this inspiring educational initiative under the EUROSPINE umbrella, promoting teamwork, innovation, and patient-centred spine care.

I am also particularly glad that this year many of our certified PSSE-Schroth Instructors will join us in Copenhagen, further strengthening our collective voice within the global spine community.

💡 I strongly believe that non-operative care providers — physiotherapists, orthotists, physicians etc— should actively participate in major spine congresses like EUROSPINE. It is through scientific exchange, evidence-based dialogue, and interdisciplinary collaboration that we can ensure our voice is heard and that conservative care continues to evolve as a vital component of comprehensive spine treatment.

🌏 PSSE-Schroth Level 1 — Perth, Australia 🇦🇺

📍We’ve just completed our very first PSSE-Schroth Level 1 course in Australia, and what an inspiring start it was!

🙌 Over the past 6 days, 11 dedicated therapists joined us in Perth to deepen their knowledge of evidence-based, non-operative scoliosis care. What made this group truly special was not only their passion, but also their high level of experience — many of them already certified in other PSSE schools and bringing years of clinical expertise into our shared learning environment.

📚 Together, we explored the principles of the PSSE-Schroth method by Nikos Karavidas, connected science with clinical practice, and built a strong foundation for advancing scoliosis treatment across Australia and beyond. 🇦🇺🌍

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all participants for their openness, curiosity, and commitment to improving patient care. And a special thanks to Lisa Marie Zorzi, owner of Perth Scoliosis, for so warmly hosting this course and contributing to its success. Your support and collaboration were invaluable!

✅ Today I had the pleasure to lecture on Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis Specific Exercises (PSSE) during Module 6 – Spinal Deformities: Scoliosis during growth and other deformities across the life course, as part of the EUROSPINE Diploma in Interprofessional Care (EDISC) program.

👉 It was truly inspiring to be part of such an interdisciplinary international team, alongside distinguished colleagues led by Dr. Fabio Zaina and the EUROSPINE faculty. 🙏

✅ We proudly share the official certificate of registration from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) confirming that the trademark “PSSE – Schroth method by Nikos Karavidas” is lawfully registered and protected.

👉 This recognition is not just about us—it is about protecting integrity, evidence-based physiotherapy, and the right of patients and professionals worldwide to access authentic, innovative, and scientifically grounded scoliosis care.

🎯 Yet, despite this legitimacy, we have faced unfair and unethical attacks ever since 2022, when we officially launched our educational courses. Instead of collaboration and respect, we were targeted with threats and misinformation.

📌 We have stayed silent for a long time, focusing instead on our mission: promoting the role of non-operative scoliosis treatment and supporting patients and professionals worldwide. But today we speak openly, to raise awareness among all scoliosis professionals about the unjust actions we have endured.

🌟 I am deeply honored to have started my journey in the SRS L.E.A.D. Program (Leadership, Education and Development) during the 60th SRS Annual Meeting in Charlotte, NC, USA 🇺🇸

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Marinus de Kleuver (Past President) and Dr. Suken Shah (Current President)—both of whom kindly supported me for this role. To be endorsed by the current and past Presidents of the Scoliosis Research Society is a true privilege, and I remain humbled by their trust.

📚 I am also grateful for my active involvement in the SRS Comprehensive Care Committee, where our mission is to update the research guidelines for bracing and to produce State-of-the-Art Reviews for both bracing and scoliosis-specific exercises (PSSE).

🤝 This recognition comes with responsibility: we need stronger participation of non-operative care providers in all these meetings. We must stay united in our common goal, elevating our professions and our collaboration with orthopedic surgeons to the highest standards.
