An inspiring and highly productive presence at the EUnetCCC Annual Meeting 2025 in Paris
This year, our team from the Department of Clinical Therapeutics at Alexandra Hospital, NKUA, had the opportunity to participate in the first Annual Meeting of the European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centers (EUnetCCC) in Paris, held under the theme “Reshaping the future of cancer care, research and education in Europe.”
Our institution contributed to the plenary session:
“Building excellence in practice: Organisational models and lessons from CCC pilots.”
The presentation was delivered by Prof. Theodora Psaltopoulou, who outlined our experience as a Greek pilot site within the EUnetCCC Joint Action and highlighted key organizational insights, progress achieved, and lessons learned throughout the implementation process.
In addition to the plenary contribution, our team presented three scientific posters, reflecting our parallel efforts in:
Developing a sustainable Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCC) model at national level,
Establishing a Certified Comprehensive Cancer Care Network (CCCN) for gynecological cancers, and
Strengthening collaboration between Alexandra Hospital and the 1st Health District of Attica (1st YPE) to enhance coordination, governance, and strategic alignment in CCC and CCCN implementation.
We sincerely thank the 1st YPE for its constructive cooperation and active contribution to these efforts.
Participation in the Annual Meeting offered a highly valuable and educational experience, enabling meaningful exchanges with CCCs, academic institutions, policymakers, and European partners involved in advancing comprehensive cancer care.
Our team gained important insights, exchanged best practices, and strengthened collaborations toward a shared European vision for comprehensive, high-quality, and research-integrated cancer care.
We extend our warm thanks to the EUnetCCC Consortium for the excellent organization and for fostering a strong environment of cooperation, dialogue, and knowledge exchange.
Our team remains committed to contributing actively to the European framework for excellence in cancer care, research, and education.
