🌿 KRETA RETREAT - 31. mai–6. juni
Gruppen vår er samlet. Alle fjorten plasser er tatt. 🌿
Noen ganger trenger man litt tid.

🌿 KRETA RETREAT — 31. mai–6. juni

People ask me — what do I think about when I think about our retreat?

I answer honestly.

I think about the meeting. Not about the programme, not about the schedule — but about that moment when everyone gathers and we look at each other. Like dear old friends who haven't seen each other for a long time. That is always how it feels — even when we are meeting for the first time.

I think about how to give each person as much as possible. Not because it sounds beautiful. But because I am a doctor — and for me, benefit is not just a word, it is a practical task. Every session, every conversation, every moment at the paper — all of it must work.

And then I think about the waterfalls.

Those who have been there with me know — something miraculous happens there.

I cannot explain it in words. It has to be experienced.

Until we meet — less than two months to go. 🌿

Samme skilsmisse. Men vinkelen hadde endret seg.

Hun avsluttet sesjonen lykkelig.

🌿 KRETA RETREAT — 31. mai–6. juni

I am often asked — how does neurographica work? How can lines and colours change anything?

I explain through a story.

A woman came to a session with the theme of divorce. Pain, loss, the feeling that her life was broken. She began to draw — heavily, reluctantly. The lines were sharp, the colours dark.

And then something happened. Right there on the paper.

Same theme. Same divorce. But the angle had shifted.

She finished the session happy. With a feeling not of loss — but of liberation. Not "I was left" — but "I am finally free."

Nobody convinced her to think differently. Nobody told her what to feel. She did it herself — through the drawing.

This is what neurographica is. Not drawing. Not therapy in the usual sense. It is a conversation with yourself in a language that bypasses our defences and reaches the truth.

This is exactly what we will be doing in Crete this summer. 🌿

I notice something fascinating when people tell me they're 'naturally disciplined' about their bodies. What they usually mean is they've built such strong neural pathways around movement and nourishment that the choice feels effortless now.

But here's what's interesting. They didn't start that way. They started with intention. With repetition. With choosing the same thing over and over until their brain literally rewired itself to crave what was good for them instead of fighting against it.

There's this belief that some people are just 'naturally' this way, and everyone else is broken. That's neuroscience myth. Your brain doesn't care whether you're a model or a teacher or a parent juggling three jobs. It responds to the same fundamental principle: repetition creates neural grooves. Those grooves get deeper with consistency. And eventually, what felt like willpower becomes just... how you are.

The tricky part? Most people try to skip the middle. They want the effortless discipline without walking through the repetition phase. They want to wake up already rewired instead of understanding that rewiring takes time, patience, and showing up even when it doesn't feel natural yet.

Your body isn't resisting you. Your nervous system is just following the instructions your brain has been giving it for years. Change that instruction through consistent, intentional practice, and watch what your body becomes willing to do.

What pattern have you been wanting to shift but thought was just 'how you are'?

With love ❤️,
Elena

Hvilken strand? Morgenkaffe ved bassenget eller ved havet?

Snart er alt dette virkelighet. 🌿

There are just under two months left until we meet in Crete.

I think about each of you — those who have already said yes. And I want to tell you something important.

You don't need to prepare in any special way. You don't need to learn to draw, read about neurographica or study anything in advance. Just come as you are — exactly as you are.

The only thing I ask — bring openness. And a little curiosity. I will take care of everything else.

And in the meantime — start dreaming. Which taverna will you choose on the first evening? Which beach? Morning coffee by the pool or by the sea?

Soon all of this will be real. 🌿

🌿 KRETA RETREAT — 31. mai–6. juni
Your nervous system doesn't care about your willpower.

I was working with someone recently who could articulate every single pattern holding her back. She understood the psychology. She'd done years of talk therapy. She knew intellectually what needed to change.

And yet. Her body kept doing the same thing.

This is where most people get stuck. They think understanding is enough. That if you can explain why you're anxious or why you sabotage relationships or why you freeze when it's time to take action, that explanation alone will rewire you.

It won't.

Your brain is not a rational machine. It's a survival machine. When your nervous system learned a particular response years ago, it embedded that response at the neural level. Your conscious mind can know all day long that you're safe now, that the old threat isn't relevant anymore. But your body still remembers the original wiring.

This is actually good news, though.

It means the solution isn't more thinking. It's not another insight or another round of analysis. It's activation. Movement. Creative expression. Your nervous system learns through doing, through sensation, through engaging your whole body in a new way.

That's why Neurographica works the way it does. Why movement matters. Why being in a sacred space and actually *feeling* something shift is different from understanding it intellectually.

Your body knows how to rewire itself. It just needs the right conditions and the right invitation.

What pattern have you been trying to think your way out of? Maybe it's time to feel your way through instead.

With love❤️, Elena

🌿 KRETA RETREAT — 31. mai–7. juni

There's something about standing in a place where people have been seeking transformation for centuries that shifts how you understand your own nervous system.

I've been spending time with Crete's ancient monasteries lately. Not for the tourism or the Instagram moment, but because I'm fascinated by what these spaces reveal about human consciousness. Panagia Paliani. Arkadi. Preveli. These aren't just buildings. They're physical records of people choosing to rewire their entire relationship with suffering, meaning, and transcendence.

What strikes me most is the persistence. These monasteries were destroyed and rebuilt. Invaded and reclaimed. The monks kept returning to the same ground, the same practice, the same commitment to transformation. Not because they were broken or needed fixing. Because they understood something neurologically that we've only recently rediscovered.

Your brain is wired for meaning-making. For ritual. For returning to sacred practice again and again until the neural pathways that support your deepest beliefs become as solid as stone.

The difference between someone who transforms at the root and someone who stays stuck for decades isn't intelligence or willpower. It's repetition in a container that actually supports rewiring. A space, a practice, a community that says, 'This is where you become who you were always meant to be.'

That's why our retreats in Crete work the way they do. Not because the island is magical. But because sacred spaces activate something in your nervous system that isolated self-help never will. Your brain remembers that it's part of something ancient and true.

What practice or place keeps calling you back to yourself?

With love❤️, Elena

Transformation isn't about escaping yourself.
Not a total reinvention. Not starting over from scratch.
I was thinking about this recently while working with a client who had spent decades trying to run from who she was. Her sensitivity. Her intuition. That quiet, relentless depth that had made her feel like too much for most of her life.
And then something shifted.
When we stopped treating those qualities as problems to fix and started asking what they were actually doing there – things got interesting. She didn't become a different person. She just finally saw what those patterns had been protecting. And once you see that, it's hard to keep calling it the enemy.
Neuroscience backs this up in a way I find genuinely strange and kind of beautiful. Your brain doesn't want to demolish its old pathways. It wants to integrate them. Reroute them. Take what kept you safe then and figure out how to make it useful now.

That sensitivity that felt like a liability for years? It's the same wiring that lets you read a room before anyone else does, that makes people feel actually heard when they talk to you. The patterns you've been trying to outgrow aren't broken. They're your nervous system being very good at its job – the job it was given a long time ago.

Transformation, then, isn't about erasing. It's closer to translation. Learning what you've actually built, and finding somewhere better to point it.
What part of yourself have you been trying to leave behind – when maybe it's just been asking to be understood differently?

With love ❤️, Elena

Reflection isn't a luxury. It's the difference between repeating patterns and actually changing them.

I was reading through research on how people build lasting transformation, and something kept appearing across every study. The ones who actually rewire their lives weren't the ones who read the most self-help books or tried the hardest. They were the ones who stopped long enough to look at what was actually happening inside.

Confucius said it centuries ago: "Learning without reflection is a waste." And neuroscience confirms it. Your brain needs that pause. That moment where you step back from the noise and actually examine what you're doing, why you're doing it, what patterns are still running on autopilot.

Most people skip this part. They're too busy trying to outrun their patterns, force themselves into new shapes, white-knuckle their way to change. But that's exhausting. That's fighting against your own nervous system instead of working with it.

Real reflection is different. It's curious. It's gentle. It asks questions instead of demanding answers. It looks at the pattern and says, "Why did this form? What was it protecting me from? What do I need to understand here?"

That's when the rewiring actually begins. Not from willpower. From understanding.

What pattern have you been trying to force, when what it actually needs is your attention and your compassion?

With love❤️, Elena

People who reflect on what they learn build confidence, research shows, and that leads to greater well-being and learning outcomes.

To plasser er fortsatt ledige.
Og to plasser.

April is coming.
I am not writing this to rush anyone — I simply want those who are thinking about it to know: flights from Norway usually become more expensive at the beginning of April. It is simply a fact about the airline market.

Two places are still available.
I think about those two women who will take them. Who are they? Perhaps someone has been reading these posts for several weeks now thinking "this is about me — but..."?
There is no "but". There is only this summer, this Crete, this small group. And two places.
If something in you is resonating — write to Anne Marie. Just like that. No obligations. Just ask.
She will reply with warmth and tell you everything. I promise. 🤍
