✨ 4 Yoga Stretches for Stiff Shoulders & Upper Back ✨
If you’ve been feeling tight from long hours at a desk or training, try these simple block-based drills to melt tension and open your upper body:

1️⃣ Elbows on Blocks
Place your elbows on blocks, palms together, and gently sink your chest down. A deep opener for shoulders + lats.

2️⃣ Hands on Blocks (Extended Puppy Variation)
Lift the hands onto blocks and reach forward. This creates more space to lengthen the upper back without pressure.

3️⃣ Blocks Under the Thoracic Spine
Lie back with 1–2 blocks under the upper spine. Let your chest open and breathe into the stretch—amazing for posture and mobility.

4️⃣ Scorpion Variation with Block
From an elbow-bridge position, hold a block as you rotate into a scorpion pose variation. A juicy stretch for the chest, shoulders, and spine.

Take it slow, breathe deep, and enjoy the release. 🤍

K A R A N D A V A S A N A 🕊️✨
One of the most humbling and empowering postures in the Ashtanga Intermediate Series. This pose asks for patience, control, and a steady breath more than anything else.
(True story
First time I lifted up Karandavasana in my life it was in the old Shala in Mysore (2011)when Sharath came in front of me and said 👉SHOW ME 😅 and those who know know ..
That meant that if I didn’t lifted up maybe I stayed there in the same pose for years 😂
Well that worked for me and fortunately I lifted up 🆙
Anyway it’s always a challenging pose but maybe is what we love in Ashtanga..)

1️⃣ The Pose Itself
Karandavasana is all about controlled descent and controlled lift. From Pincha Mayurasana, the lotus lowers like a feather, and the body rises back up the same way—slow, connected, and steady. Strength meets surrender.

2️⃣ Lotus Leg Lifts on the Mat
Start on your back. Take lotus, bring the legs toward the armpits, and slowly return them to center—just like leg lifts, but with the lotus binding everything in. This builds the deep core, hip, and bandha awareness needed for the full posture.

3️⃣ Elbow Plank Slides
Slide forward and back in elbow plank to fire up the serratus, shoulders, and deep stabilizers. This mimics the strength needed to stabilize in Pincha before attempting the lower-down.

4️⃣ Practice the Lower Down
Even without lotus, practice lowering from Pincha with control—shoulders over elbows, ribs in, breath steady. The more you can break this into pieces, the more the full movement becomes possible.

✨ Remember: Karandavasana isn’t about forcing the shape.
It’s about building the pathway—one breath, one drill, one mindful moment at a time.

🧘‍♀️ Stay patient. Stay curious.
Your body will open, your strength will grow, and the pose will meet you when you’re ready.

✨ 4 Drills to Improve Your Handstand Alignment ✨
Swipe ➡️ to level up your line!

1️⃣ Flat-Back Awareness
Lie on your back and press your whole spine into the floor. Feel what a true straight line feels like.

2️⃣ Hollow Body Hold
Engage your core, ribs in, tailbone slightly tucked. Hold and breathe—this is your handstand shape on the ground.

3️⃣ Tuck & Pike Slides ×10
From plank, slide into tuck and pike shapes. Build control, shoulder strength, and awareness of your alignment.

4️⃣ Wall Handstand (Head In!)
Kick up or walk in. Keep ribs stacked, head neutral, and push tall through your shoulders.

🔥 Consistency is key. Add these to your warm-up and watch your handstand line transform.

✨ Advanced Flexibility Flow for Oversplits ✨
Take your splits to the next level with this deep mobility sequence — perfect for gymnasts,dancers, yogis, and anyone training for higher leg extensions!

🔥 Routine:
1️⃣ Standing splits with movement – 10x each leg
2️⃣ Oversplits on chairs – hold 2 minutes each leg (front & back)
3️⃣ Block drills – place a yoga block under your pelvis:
• One leg bent, kick with the other – 4x each side
• Both legs straight, kick – 4x each side
• Hold your oversplit for 1 minute
✨ Repeat everything on both sides for balance!

💡 Tip: Breathe through the stretch, stay active in your legs, and control your depth — it’s not just about flexibility, but strength and awareness too.
