Today we mark , a reminder of the importance of protecting and improving health for everyone.

Prevention and early detection are key to tackling cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in Europe. To raise awareness, a CV Health Check will take place at the European Parliament tomorrow, Wednesday 8 April.

The initiative comes at an important moment for EU health policy, with cardiovascular health firmly on the agenda through the EU Safe Hearts Plan and a forthcoming Council Recommendation on a common protocol for cardiovascular health checks, strengthening the focus on prevention across Europe.
