Annie Lennox was fighting depression when she wrote these lyrics.
She explains their significance in her biography:
The song “Sweet Dreams” is a personal statement about people’s motivations, in their loves, their own dreams. I replaced the word “motivations” with the word “dreams.” (...)
And everywhere I look (“I travelled the world, and the seven seas”), all I see is that every person on the earth is looking for that kind of fulfilment.
The end is mine, not sure if Annie would agree, but ultimately everything comes down to love.
When I am giving a Biofeedback session, before finishing I always go to a "check out" panel to see if I have cleared the causes of stress.
Sometimes there are remaining things like Trauma.
The interesting thing is that trauma as a pending issue in my check out panel clears most of the times when I do this: I go to substance order, and it would pop up a remedy according to the person's unconscious choice. It would be what is needed. The "remedy" is usually Unrequited Love.
Ahhh... it means healing from love that is or was not returned. This is the story of for the first part of our lives at least. It doesn't mean a big love, or long lasting desire. We all want to be loved and we feel unloved sometimes. It's so human and at the same time we still hide it from ourselves.
So, let's come out of the love closet and love 🦋💕
If we could see it when we are ill, sick, wounded, isolated, stressed, we are one step closer to feel whole again.
