Do you swim in winter? Where? 🏊♀️🥽
✨ Winter Swimming in Greece — A Different Kind of Freedom ✨
Yesterday I went swimming in Agia Triada.
The sun was shining, the sea was a little bit chilly, and yes… we’re heading into winter here in Greece. Most people think Greece is endless summer, but once the cool months arrive, nobody swims. Except me. 😅
With Hashimoto’s, we often feel the cold more, so I slipped into my little short wetsuit and went in anyway.
And honestly?
It was beautiful. Refreshing. Freeing.
A deep reminder of how alive we become when we meet nature exactly as she is.
There’s a special kind of magic in the cooler months — no crowds, no heat, no distractions. Just breath, movement, the sound of the sea… and so much prana flowing through the body.
Cold water has a way of grounding you instantly.
Your mind quiets, your senses sharpen, and suddenly you feel very present, very human, very here.
I’m hoping to keep swimming all winter.
Not for fitness, but for connection — to my body, my breath, and the natural rhythms that hold us.
Benefits I’ve noticed from cool-water swimming:
🌊 A surge of prana and energy afterwards
🌬 A calmer, more spacious mind
✨ A grounded, steady nervous system
🤍 A gentle “reset” from the inside out
🌱 A reminder that nature is healing in every season
And afterwards?
I wrapped up warm on the sand, opened my little hot flask, and sipped my spicy yogi tea — absolute perfection. ☕️
The perfect grounding ritual after the cold water.
Living in Greece isn’t only about sunsets and summer heat… it’s also about embracing the quieter seasons and finding beauty in the simple rituals — like a cold swim and a warm cup of tea.
