On the 9th–10th of December, the National AIDS Programme Secretariat hosted an intensive and highly interactive Crisis Intervention and Management Training for social workers. Over the two days, participants engaged in open discussions, group activities, and practical exercises aimed at strengthening their ability to respond effectively to individuals experiencing emotional distress, stigma, or HIV-related crises.

The session created a warm and collaborative environment, allowing social workers to learn from one another’s experiences while gaining essential tools for de-escalation, supportive communication, and client-centered care. This investment in capacity building reflects NAPS’ ongoing commitment to ensuring that frontline workers are fully equipped to offer compassionate, timely, and professional support to the communities they serve.

Together, we continue to strengthen our national response, not just through treatment and prevention but through mental health support, empathy, and human connection.

Region 8 - Mahdia District Hospital observed World AIDS Day in the community, under the theme 'Communities Leading, Equality in Action'. The event aimed to promote awareness and understanding of HIV and AIDS, emphasizing the crucial role communities play in achieving equality and ending the epidemic. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) attacks the body's immune system, while AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is the most advanced stage of HIV infection. Together, let's support those affected and work towards a future without stigma and discrimination.
