On the 9th–10th of December, the National AIDS Programme Secretariat hosted an intensive and highly interactive Crisis Intervention and Management Training for social workers. Over the two days, participants engaged in open discussions, group activities, and practical exercises aimed at strengthening their ability to respond effectively to individuals experiencing emotional distress, stigma, or HIV-related crises.
The session created a warm and collaborative environment, allowing social workers to learn from one another’s experiences while gaining essential tools for de-escalation, supportive communication, and client-centered care. This investment in capacity building reflects NAPS’ ongoing commitment to ensuring that frontline workers are fully equipped to offer compassionate, timely, and professional support to the communities they serve.
Together, we continue to strengthen our national response, not just through treatment and prevention but through mental health support, empathy, and human connection.
