Cancer is a one of the leading cause of death in Hong Kong. Screening programmes for certain types of cancers can help detect the cancer early and facilitate timely and effective treatment.

However, The COVID-19 pandemic has severely interfered with habits of getting screened for cancer. A survey by the Hong Kong anti-cancer society found that the screening rate for four types of the disease had dropped significantly compared with pre-pandemic period.
