🧠🎨 Join us for "Vitruvian Bridge: Arts x Science Minds 2025"!

Continuing the creative vision of DnAesthetics, this exhibition bridges arts and sciences, focusing on the brain, nervous system, and emotions. After months of collaboration and exchanges, artworks celebrating this interdisciplinary dialogue come to life at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre from Nov 14 to Dec 31.

Highlighting the work of Professor Cora Lai, the project explores how art and science intertwine to reveal the interconnectedness of mind, nerves, and feelings—an aesthetically moving journey.

Don't miss the public and school workshops! Free admission.

🚨 Breakthrough in gastric cancer research! A recent study led by Professor Alan Wong Siu-lun, Professor Leung Suet-yi, Chairperson of the Department of Pathology, and Professor Helen Yan from the same department, uncovered how nerves in the digestive system promote tumour growth via lipid metabolism. By targeting cholesterol pathways, they slowed tumour growth by 65% and increased cancer cell death by over 6 times. This discovery opens new avenues for personalised therapies.

Led by Prof. Martin Cheung, new research uncovers how genetic disruptions in neural crest cells can cause birth defects like cleft lip and palate🧬. This breakthrough could lead to improved prenatal tests and early interventions. The findings, published in 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, may pave the way for future gene-editing therapies to prevent such conditions before birth. 👶For more: https://bit.ly/47H2mM6

Hi everyone! 👋 I'm Jhoram, and I'm excited to be part of the . Currently, I am a lecturer in . However, I wear a few hats in my professional journey. I'm a physician and nurse 🩺 with a background in biology 🧬, but my real passion is medical education 📚.

For the past 20 years, I've taught students in medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, and biomedical sciences across the Philippines 🇵🇭, Malaysia 🇲🇾, and Canada 🇨🇦, covering various subjects like anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and clinical skills.
I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, which allowed me to gain Fellowship in Advanced HE. My interests include Technology-Enhanced Education 💻, Equity 🌍, and Learners' Wellbeing 💖, and Transnational Education 🌐.

Outside work, I love karaoke, watercolour painting, and reading. I'm more of an introvert who enjoys a relaxed environment, and my greatest joys are moments spent with my wife and daughter.
