【骨科錦囊】💡世界骨質疏鬆日專題 - 預防骨質疏鬆症的簡單方法
每年10月20日是【世界骨質疏鬆日】。骨質疏鬆症又被稱為「無聲疾病」,在沒有明顯症狀下悄悄地影響我們的骨骼健康,往往直到骨折發生才被察覺。本港約有一半65歲以上女性患有骨質疏鬆症。50歲以上,每3位女士便可能有1位會因骨質疏鬆症而骨折。男士也不容忽視,每5位便有1位。
骨質疏鬆症令骨骼變得脆弱,輕微跌倒、碰撞或突然動作都可能骨折。骨折不但引發疼痛,嚴重時,尤其髖關節骨折,更可能失去活動能力甚至危及生命。
骨科專科溫宇婷醫生指出:
• 在港每年約有7000名長者因髖骨骨折需入院接受手術
• 髖骨骨折死亡率高,不容輕忽
• 做好預防措施及及早檢測,主動對抗「骨質小偷」
• 健康生活習慣(均衡飲食、多做負重運動、充足鈣質及維他命D)是預防骨質疏鬆的關鍵

[Bone Health Spotlight] - World Osteoporosis Day Feature – Simple Ways to Prevent Osteoporosis
Every year on 20 October, we shine the spotlight on World Osteoporosis Day. Osteoporosis, often called the “silent disease”, quietly weakens our bones without noticeable symptoms until a fracture occurs.
Around half of women aged 65 or above in Hong Kong are affected by osteoporosis. Among those over 50, one in three women and one in five men are at risk of suffering a fracture due to osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis makes our bones fragile, putting patients at risk of fractures even with minor falls, bumps or sudden movement. Not only are fractures painful, in more serious cases, especially in hip fractures, loss of mobility or life can ensue.
