๐Happy Motherโs Day!
The day designated to show love and appreciation for individuals who love and appreciate their people everyday!
As a psychologist who supports children and families, I know I am one of the lucky ones who knows what it is like to be a parent. I am grateful for the tiny humans in my life. I understand the intense love for your child, plus the endless worry, and the challenges of navigating the ups and downs of development (both parent & child)- it can be a lot. I believe it helps me be a better clinician who can sit with caregivers to provide support. I also remain humble with the missteps I make despite knowing what I know. We are all human after all.
My goals are to cherish the snuggles as long they let me hold them, kiss them often, and praise more than correct (which is not always easy on the tough days)!
Every morning is a chance to try again!
To those who celebrate the day- I hope you feel celebrated!
To those who experience other emotions on this day, feel them. You donโt need to share your story unless you want to.
๐ฅฐIt is hard to believe I have been a mom for this long
๐ฉโโค๏ธโ๐จ Special shoutout to my partner on this journey.
๐๐ผ to my village who support me so I can be both a mother and a psychologist.
