• Mode of transmission — spread through droplets, stool, and contact with contaminated surfaces
• Clinical features — early symptoms, typical rash on hands/feet, mouth ulcers, fever, and warning signs

Did you know? Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in Hong Kong — yet it is also one of the most preventable.

On 16 April 2026, Rinzin delivered an important health talk on the Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme at the NAAC Elderly Care Centre in Tung Chung, empowering adults with knowledge that can truly save lives.

Under the Government’s subsidised programme, asymptomatic Hong Kong residents aged 50–75 can receive screening in the private sector. The first step is the Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT), which detects tiny, invisible traces of blood in stool.
If blood is found, a colonoscopy will be arranged — allowing doctors to remove polyps before they turn cancerous.

From understanding the FOBT to recognising lifestyle risk factors, the session reinforced one message:
Early detection protects families, prevents cancer, and saves lives.

Today, Rinzin delivered a community talk on anaemia, at CHEER Centre, Kwun Tong , emphasising how women can protect their health through a healthy, balanced diet with iron‑rich foods, mindful meal‑timing habits, and screening for anaemia. The session highlighted that early detection and simple lifestyle adjustments can prevent iron‑deficiency anaemia and reduce pregnancy‑related risks such as preterm birth, low‑birthweight infants, and even infant mortality.

Hong Kong’s rapidly ageing population risks becoming an unsustainable burden for the healthcare system and the city as a whole if residents do not take proactive steps to stay healthy,” a recent health summit has warned. https://news.rthk.hk/rthk/en/component/k2/1850299-20260408.htm

Today, Rinzin delivered a talk on Prevention of Osteoporosis to ethnic minority ladies at the Methodist Epworth Village Community Centre, emphasising the importance of adopting healthier lifestyles, engaging in regular exercise (including weight‑bearing activities), maintaining good nutrition, and ensuring adequate calcium and vitamin D intake — including getting some sunshine. These are essential pillars for preserving bone health and preventing fractures as people age.
