Key Benefits of Physiotherapy Clinical Pilates

Targeted Rehab & Pain Relief: exercises are tailored to your specific pathology. It is highly effective for managing lower back & neck pain, as well as recovering from sports injuries or surgery.

Enhanced Core Stability: It focuses on the “powerhouse”—the deep stabilizing muscles of the abdomen, lower back, and pelvic floor. Strengthening these muscles provides a solid foundation for all movement and helps protect the spine.

Improved Posture & Body Awareness: Clinical Pilates retrains your brain-to-muscle connection. By correcting muscle imbalances and improving spinal alignment, it helps you maintain a healthy posture naturally, reducing strain from long hours at a desk.

Injury Prevention: By identifying and addressing specific movement dysfunctions or weaknesses, Clinical Pilates helps prevent future injuries.

Safe for All Life Stages: The low-impact nature makes it accessible for everyone, including:
Prenatal and Postnatal Women: To strengthen the pelvic floor and support the body through pregnancy.

Menopausal: To maintain bone density, improve mobility, and stay independent.

Mental Well-being: The focus on precise movement and controlled breathing acts as a form of “movement meditation,” which can lower cortisol levels, reduce stress, and improve mental clarity.

BABY WEARING 101

Tip 1 - Pelvic position
Position your hips directly over your feet, relax your bottom muscles and elongate through the top of your head. Imagine a helium balloon is lifting you tall towards the ceiling.

Tip 2 - The waistband
Position the waistband so that it rests closer to
your natural waistband. Ensure it that it, as well as any other back straps, are a snug fit. You’ll know that baby is resting at the right height if you can nod your chin to kiss their head.

Tip 3 - Inwards facing
If you experience pelvic floor heaviness or a bulging sensation, try facing baby in towards you. Please check the manufacturer’s guidelines for when baby is ready to face out.

Tip 4 - Healthy hip position
Always ensure that your baby’s legs are resting in the carrier in an M shaped position, rather than straight. This promotes healthy hip development.

Last but not least, always follow the TICKS acronym for safe baby wearing. If you haven’t heard of it before, see this link . https://raisingchildren.net.au/newborns/safety/equipment-furniture/baby-carrier-sling-safety

This International Women’s Day, the theme is Give to Gain.

And in women’s health, that couldn’t be more powerful.

So many women are used to giving — to their careers, their families, their communities.
But when it comes to their own nutrition? They give last.

Especially with protein.

Undereating protein isn’t about lack of discipline. It’s often about lack of prioritisation. Skipped breakfasts. Salads without substance. Coffee instead of fuel.

But here’s the shift:

When women give their bodies enough protein, they gain —
✨ Strength
✨ Lean muscle
✨ Metabolic resilience
✨ Hormonal support
✨ Confidence in their bodies

Research consistently shows active women benefit from around 1.6–2.2g/kg/day, distributed across meals to optimise muscle protein synthesis and recovery.

When you give your body what it physiologically needs, it gives back in performance, energy, and longevity.

This IWD, let’s redefine “giving.”
Not depletion.
Not self-sacrifice.

But nourishment.
Fuel.
Strength.

Because when women fuel properly — we don’t just gain muscle.

We gain power.

These stats highlight just how crucial it is to openly talk about female health in sport—especially during adolescence 🌸

Research shows that 32% of girls aged 14–18 say their period has stopped them from participating in sport.

At Evolve, we’re committed to breaking the silence. We actively encourage open conversations about the menstrual cycle, periods, and hormones with girls and women💫

Normalising these topics helps show adolescent girls that they can stay active through puberty and beyond—and that real support is available during this big life change🤛🏼

We’ve spoken at numerous schools, delivering education and practical guidance in the hope that it helps even one girl avoid dropping out of sport.
We’re determined to do everything we can to bring this number down and empower females at every stage of life.

Got questions about how we can support your school, team, or community? Drop us a DM—we’d love to chat! 💪🩸

✨Meet our new women’s health physiotherapist, Jasmine!✨
Born and raised in Hong Kong and having spent her formative years in Canada, she moved to Scotland to pursue her Masters in Physiotherapy. Since graduating, she has dedicated 2.5 years to the NHS, where she gained a broad range of clinical experience. Her rotations have included Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, Elderly Rehabilitation, Stroke Rehabilitation, and Medical Respiratory.

Jasmine loves staying active by dabbling in various sports—from ice skating and snowboarding to a newfound passion for running (approaching new activities with enthusiasm rather than expertise⛸️). When she is not working, she enjoys cafe hoping and petting all the cats in her neighbourhood. 🐈

Jasmine is passionate about learning the latest evidence-based approaches as a women’s health physiotherapist. She has now moved back to her hometown Hong Kong and is excited to join the Evolve team! 🌸
