Filipino Nurses Association Hong Kong is two-decades old!!!!

FNAHK, a registered organisation in HK Police Licensing Office (Societies’s Office), on 2006. Its establishment isn’t planned to what it is until today. Register Nurses and Nursing Graduates came together because of job opportunity in Maryland USA and that even unregistered are qualified, thus many nurses came into the open, that’s when founding members decided to form a group and formalise it by registering as non-profit organisation with the ultimate goal of bringing the PRC-BON in the territory for the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination.

The celebration held at the OWWAoke room of the OFW Global Center in Admiralty on 15 March 2026. It was informal, and relaxed atmosphere, where new members and want to become members sing along over potluck foods. It is also serves as birthday celebration of Vice President External Affairs, Mam Loreza Acosta and farewell moment to one of very diligent, and active member Mam Maricel Cornelio Lara.
Through the years, FNAHK is still true to its philosophy, mission and vision, and RNgoals. On May, members will sit for PNLE, on government promised of bringing its health professionals back home.
To all who bring foods, sweet smiles, laughter, inspiring and reminiscing stories, empowering those preparing for their road to RNs, be it known that we appreciate all of it! Let’s continue to lift ourselves by lifting others with us. (LSP)

In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), Filipino Nurses Association Hong Kong together with other migrant organisations in HK , joined “Empowering MDWs: Resilience, Wellbeing and Pathways Forward organised by Enrich HK, on 08 March2025, at Innoport CUHK. This event is to honour the contributions and achievements of Migrant Domestic Workers in the territory, to their families, communities and to themselves.
Filipino Fna participated rendering health tips and blood pressure readings.

Filipino Nurses Association Hong Kong (FNAHK) and newly born Bayanihan Peer Support Volunteers, participated at the year end event of MDW Recharge Hub of CUHK and WEMP Foundation titled “Grateful Heart”, where migrant domestic workers (MDW), enjoyed having their Blood glucose test reading and Blood pressure taking for free. Other organisations also rendered, art tutorials from fruit and vegetable carvings, paintings, beads and fuzzy wire crafts and a lot more that they can bring home their finish products. ambassadors also provided free period pads, free cookies from Migrant Bakeshop,Mission For Migrant Workers was also at the venue with PathFinders for Migrant Workers.
FNAHK would love to thank all their compassionate, full of care, volunteer members.

A day of relaxation….focused on self, physically, emotionally and mentally.
The Filipino Nurses Association HongKong (FNAHK), spent their Christmas get-together/celebration in an unconventional way. No “Monito Monita”, Christmas songs played, neither Christmas theme outfits.
The FNAHK president collaborated with Naveda / OFW Wellness Sanctuary to treat her members with a day of relaxation and self-care, “Care and gratitude to Caregivers”, way. So, with the “Golden Sunday” program of OFW Wellness Sanctuary, started when the owner of Naveda turned 50 last year, and the FNAHK leader turned her golden this year, members enjoyed back body massage, facial and meditation all expense paid.
Nurses weren’t the only ones who got to enjoy the experience, Lapis at Papel Samaritanos and Bayanihan Peer Support Volunteers, both also lead by Pagaduan also benefited.
All of them were happy, left the place energise and refreshed!
“It’s my only little way of giving back to them, all those holidays (once a week day off every one of them should spend for their personal needs), they spent voluntarily serving the community in the name of the organisation.”, Pagaduan told Mdm. Veena Dansinghani, the founder of Naveda Wellness.

Last week, we teamed up with volunteers to sort, organise, and deliver essential supplies to migrant domestic workers affected by the recent Tai Po tragedy. The items distributed included warm clothing, medicines, sanitary and hygiene products, and other daily necessities to provide comfort and practical support during this challenging time.

In a separate visit, our Case Manager, John Francia and community leader Santi Nursilah visited an injured domestic worker currently receiving treatment in hospital. We continue to monitor the wellbeing of those affected while working closely with community leaders to coordinate responses and ensure appropriate assistance.

We also participated in a session organised by the Philippine Consulate for the affected workers. During the session, John Francia spoke about the importance of mental health counselling in times of crisis and shared information about our available services for workers in need of emotional and social support.

Out of compassion and dignity for the survivors, we are not able to share their photos at this stage. However, we remain actively engaged behind the scenes, collaborating with frontline organisations, the Labour Department, and home country consulates to assess ongoing needs and determine the next steps.

FNAHK President had a meeting with Naveda Wellness on 06 December 2025, at Naveda Wellness office. The meeting aims for collaboration on how the nurses group benefit with the services offered by Naveda. Both agreed to start with a Christmas celebration through relaxation! A truly “Care for the Caregiver Nurses”. Golden Sunday, a once a month event where Naveda offers a pampering time for yourself with an affordable price. It was started last year, the owner’s Golden year, enthusiastically it’s also the FNAHK leader’s golden year this year, it will be a memorable Christmas celebration!
