Using your phone before bed disrupts your melatonin levels and your sleep – even keeping your phone in your room while you sleep can have a negative impact! Better rest starts with boundaries for your smartphone. Leave it outside of your bedroom – not right outside! – and enjoy a deeper, more revitalising sleep.

Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone.

This International Stress Awareness Week, we’re encouraging people to talk openly about the pressure they face. Stress is a natural part of life, and while it’s a necessary and helpful part of how we operate as humans, it’s clear that many of us are struggling with the load.

And recent data shows just how common this feeling is:
🔎 37% of adults worldwide reported feeling “a lot of stress” the previous day in Gallup’s State of the World’s Emotional Health 2025 report.
🔎 62% of people across 31 countries told Ipsos in 2024 that they’ve been stressed to the point where it impacted their daily life at least once in the last year.

Chronic stress is a signal that we need to act before we completely burn out or break down. The good news is that small, manageable steps can make a significant difference in helping us to reclaim our well-being. Take the opportunity this week to check in on yourself, and with each other. What are your top tips for managing your stress levels?

Our latest poll results are in – and we have a clear answer. A huge thank you to everyone who voted!

46% said screens before bed were your biggest sleep challenge. Is this a consequence of our “always on” culture that means you struggle to disconnect, or do you need to break a habit of watching TV, gaming, or using social media right before bed?

22% cited both an irregular schedule and stress. Do these intertwine for many of you, or is it simply a reflection that the pressures of modern life and the lack of a routine can be equally challenging?

11% of you said noise and light most affected your sleep. Is that a consequence of where you live or is there anything you can do to make your space quieter and darker?

Tell us your thoughts below! Were you surprised by these results? What have you tried to address your biggest sleep challenge, and what impact did it have?

Today is the International Day of Care and Support. We join the global community to recognise and celebrate the millions of paid and unpaid caregivers who are the foundation of our society.

But celebrating them isn’t enough. The scale of low and unpaid care work is staggering, and often invisible. Women provide 16 BILLION hours of unpaid care work, every single day! That’s worth $11 TRILLION – 9% of global GDP.

In some countries, if unpaid care work was given a monetary value, it would exceed 40% of their GDP, larger than some of their major sectors! Women provide 2.5 times more unpaid care hours than men, and account for around two-thirds of the paid care workforce, often on a low salary. But investing in the care economy, which would support both caregivers and those who need care, could create nearly 300 million global jobs in the next 10 years. It’s time to build a global care system that works for everyone.
