Your body responds to how you treat it⬇️

Movement: don’t overthink it - just don’t be sedentary.

Nutrition: prioritise protein, eat your nutrients rather than rely on supplements, reduce ultra processed foods and refined sugar.

Stress Management: breathwork, gratitude, set boundaries, music, self-talk.

Your Environment: you are who you surround yourself with, cold & heat therapy, sunlight, remove toxins.

Recovery: sleep comes first, HRV tracking, prehab/rehab, listen to your body.

If you master your physiology, the results will follow. You can’t fill from an empty cup.

Take the time to gauge your nervous system, use these signs as a prompt to to take action⬇️

1) Muscle Tension: muscle tightness (which can manifest as tightness in the neck, shoulders, or jaw).

2) Impaired Coordination: poor fine motor skills and coordination, leading to clumsiness or difficulty doing precise movements.

3) Depleted energy: decreased physical strength and quicker onset of fatigue during exercise or daily activities.

4) Delayed Recovery: poor recovery from physical exertion, delaying muscle repair and increasing susceptibility to injury.

5) Heightened Pain Sensitivity: physical discomfort feels more intense or prolonged.

Mornings like this remind me that depending where you are in the world, what season you’re in, and what you have available…your exercise routine is going to look different.

As much as we like following an exercise plan, having structure and consistency - also be realistic about what you enjoy doing.

It’s so common for people to lose motivation as the seasons change, but then start to adapt your exercise so you keep moving…something is better than nothing.

Do the best you can with what you have available…and if you’re not enjoying it, try something new (there’s always an alternative☺️)

Same pose, different attire and background💪🏼⛰️

Starting 2024 with gratitude for what my body does for me - whether it’s in glam or sweaty gym gear.

Being strong, mobile and moving well is what matters, the knock-on effect that has into the rest of our lives is extraordinary.
