The international biomedical student congress of Rijeka- ''BRIK 2017'' is the first international congress organised by the students of the Medical Faculty of Rijeka. Our idea is to connect students and scientists from biomedical fields that want acquire new knowledges and share their experiences with their future colleagues. Throughout the three day long gathering, held from the 2nd until the 4th of November 2017 in the Medical faculty of Rijeka, we are hoping to encourage the collaboration, cooperation and most importantly an exchange of the ideas between the students from different parts of the world. Main activities range from a student presentations, plenary lectures to the practical workshops with the idea to point out the importance of networking between the students. Taking into account that the scope of our congress is not only the scientific cooperation, but a social interaction between the students we came up with a social program that includes group gatherings, and a day trip. Guided by the idea of ever growing need for the integration of medical and biomedical sciences, this project has a scope to create and reinforce the cooperation between these two interdisciplinary fields.
