🌿 Wild Once More 🌿

We are thrilled to announce the successful release of seven orangutans into the wild after years of rehabilitation at Nyaru Menteng. Their journey to freedom marks another step forward in our mission to restore and protect Indonesia’s precious orangutans.

With support from the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Central Kalimantan, our team guided them through winding forest paths to their natural habitat in Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park where the wild beckoned once more.

As the cages opened, they paused for a final glance before stepping into the green. At last, they were home again.

A heartfelt thank you to all our partners, supporters, and the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry for helping make this moment possible. Your dedication keeps the forest alive and hope growing strong.

Each release brings us closer to a world where orangutans thrive in freedom.

🧡 From a fragile beginning to a stronger tomorrow.

Meet Pororo, a tiny orangutan found alone near an oil palm plantation. When she arrived at Nyaru Menteng, she was weak and underweight. Thanks to gentle care and endless love from her surrogate mother, Pororo is now growing stronger and taking her first steps toward a new life in the wild.

🌿 Big changes often start with small hands.
Our team recently set out on a long trip to reach schools around Bukit Batikap, sharing stories about the forest and our orangutan neighbours. Through songs, games, and laughter, local students learned that protecting nature also means protecting their own future.

🇮🇩 National Heroes Day
Heroism is not only found on battlefields or in history books. It lives in quiet dedication, in tireless hands, and in the courage to protect what cannot speak for itself.

At BOS Foundation, that same spirit continues through everyone who works every day to rescue, rehabilitate, and release orangutans, while helping preserve Indonesia’s rich biodiversity for generations to come.

Defending life, land, and legacy is a true act of heroism. Today, we honor all who fight for a better future. Selamat Hari Pahlawan! 🌿🦧

Four rehabilitated orangutans have just been released into Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park—and three more are on their way, including one very special individual from Thailand: Kapuan!

This marks the 14th successful release of repatriated orangutans. The journey has been anything but easy: complex logistics, high costs, and countless hours of care. But for every orangutan that makes it back to the wild, every effort is worth it.

Still, not all stories end this way. Many repatriated orangutans never return to the forest, held back by illness or an inability to survive in the wild. Their absence is a quiet reminder of how fragile life is—and how urgent our conservation work must be.

This milestone was made possible through the united efforts of the Ministry of Forestry, BKSDA Central Kalimantan, and Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park.

Together, we’re not just releasing orangutans—we’re restoring futures 💚

🌿 What happens when care meets the wild? You get stories like Inung’s!

This National Flora and Fauna Love Day, we’re celebrating how love and patience can bring life back to the forest. Once rescued and cared for, Inung now roams freely through Bukit Batikap Protected Forest, raising her little ones and proving that when we care, nature answers with hope.
