Cortisol is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Any inflammatory condition will signal cortisol release through normal inflammatory signaling.
Common causes of chronic inflammation:
- Inflammation in the gut (IBD, celiac, candidiasis, SIBO, food sensitivities and allergies).
- Chronic inflammatory conditions (arthritis, skin allergies, any chronic infections).
- Obesity.
- Toxins overload
- Tissue damage or surgery.
The most frequent chronic inflammation condition I’ve seen is gut inflammation.

Our body expect to have normal-range blood sugar throughout the day.
How much, how often and what types of food we eat will determine how our body will respond.
Dietary habit that drive poor control of our blood sugar, include:
- Very low calorie dieting.
- Going too long between meals (this does not apply for those who have adjusted to intermittent fasting/time restricted eating).
- Consuming high-glycemic foods and junk foods.
This is the yo-yo effect.
Constant fluctuations in blood glucose create one of body's most stressful conditions.

Our body expect us to give it time off, everyday.
Sleep is our body’s way of resetting itself metabolically and psychologically. It helps our body readjust to the stresses placed upon it during the day. If we are not getting a good quality of sleep, our body's expectation aren't fulfilled.
This is stressful and our body will start protesting.
Common causes of sleep disruption, include:
- Elevated cortisol
- Low melatonin
- Low progesterone
- Low blood sugar
- Sleep apnea
- Restless leg, etc.

Anything that cause you to feel "threatened" will activate the stress-response of your body.
Those include:
- Negative emotions such as grief, anger, worry, fear, guilt, embarrassment, etc.
- Job stress, performance evaluations, etc.
- Financial pressure.
- Relationship issues: separation, death of loved one, abusive parents, etc.

And though most people can certainly identify when they're feeling stressed, a lot of people aren't aware of this.
They said they don't have anything stressful.
But when I asked more questions, she said she do yoga everyday, eat raw food, but she's worry about money all the time.
Or he doesn't like his job, and the people he's working with.
She have hyperactive child and the husband not helping, while she just want some times to go to a yoga class and read books.

There are many more examples.

Common stress triggers:
1. Mental and Emotional
