Do I need antibiotic for my sore throat?

Viral or bacterial infections are the main cause of sore throats, it can make difficult to talk and breathe. Allergies and sinus infections can also contribute to a sore throat.
Increase your liquid intake, gargling with warm salt water or taking OTC pain relievers may help to improve your condition.
If symptoms become severe, persists longer than 5-7 days, medical attention is recommended.
