THERAPEUTIC WISDOM YOGA
A yoga practice that addresses the common problems in the body (feet, back, shoulders, neck, etc.) and to avoid injuries. By knowing our body's problem, we use asanas to to heal itself. We do not adjust to asanas, we use asanas to adjust to our physical problems and injuries. Self-awareness is the key to reach wisdom.
In this practice we will look at each one's structure and problems of the feet, knees, hips, back and shoulders with emphasis on scoliosis. We will work with adjusted asanas and props for your body's needs and eliminate the problems.
Even if you don't have any injuries this class will teach you a new approach to yoga. You will find the poses become more accessible to your body.
About Ika Paramastri :
Ika is a RYT-200 yoga teacher who has been training with Doug Keller, a teacher in Yoga Therapy at the Maryland University, U.S., and a writer of several yoga therapy books and columnist at Yoga Journal magazine. She's also trained with other therapy teachers such as Martin Kirk and Judy Krupp.
Besides teaching therapy yoga, Ika also teaches yoga swing, aerial yoga, Yin yoga, myofascia release, and restorative yoga.
Ika has scoliosis and knee injury from her running hobby; she will share with you her effective treatment and ways to improve scoliosis and injuries through yoga practice
