Presented to exceptional products, this coveted title was awarded to only 81 products in 31 categories in 2015.
Each year manufacturers and designers from across the globe submit their designs in the hope of obtaining a Red Dot award. The organizers of this year’s competition received more than 5,500 entries from 54 countries.
The global expertise of technical textile manufacturer Dickson and the originality and innovation of this latest collection stood out from the crowd, putting woven vinyls on the international design map.
AN EXCEPTIONAL AWARD AND A REVOLUTION IN THE FLOORING MARKET
According to Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award: “The jury awards this Red Dot, Best of Best, to an exceptional design. Only design visionaries are able to achieve a perfect balance between quality of function, appeal, utility and responsibility.”
A central element of an interior decoration, flooring creates ambiance and defines atmosphere. In this regard, Dickson has pushed the boundaries of flooring with its “living” product capable of creating 3D visual affects through interaction with its environment.
How ? Building on more than 180 years of internationally recognized expertise, Dickson has developed a collection of woven floor coverings made from revolutionary fibres. By using bi-colored yarn and a special textile construction, Dickson flooring changes aspect along with ambient light reflections. These new woven-material effect tiles are available in a range of shapes for customized interiors. Highly resistant, comfortable and easy to clean, they enjoy the visual aspect of textiles but none of their disadvantages. This woven vinyl allows architects to create spaces with strong identities by mixing styles and material effects.
It turns floors into a form of creative expression and flooring into an art form !
