We completed the Camino in 36 days, 780ks, on Tuesday the 21st of October, walking 40ks on our final day in the rain and dark to reach the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela at 8:30pm. What an experience! Dad and our aunty walked with us in spirit the entire journey, and so we dedicated our Compostelas to them at the end of the road. There were certainly challenges, I had to go to hospital and take a bus from Burgos to Leon due to infected blisters, but Nick biked that section for the both of us, despite his chin splints. We met many amazing people along the way and developed a strong spiritual connection with The Way of Santiago and the many pilgrims who had walked the path before us. The Camino will always provide and point you in the direction you need to go.

As you know, Nick and I were walking to raise money for Parkinson's NZ in honour of our Dad. Thanks to all those who have donated to this important cause! We've raised $2,740 NZD so far! If you haven't already donated for Parkinson's NZ please donate on the link below. Our fundraiser closes at the end of this month. Help us to reach $5000!!

I was the only one walking in a sea of scooters. I stood by the side of the road for ages helplessly staring at the continuous traffic until I gave in and asked a local to help me cross.

If the Camino taught me anything, it's that it's better to go with the flow than fight it, so I took a scooter on the way back and what an experience! Riding the streets of Bali at sunset, definitely the way to go!!

Goodbye London. Goodbye Northern hemisphere. On to new adventures in Indonesia and Australia. It's impossible to put into words how incredible the last 4 months has been. 4 months feels like a lifetime when you're living everyday in the here and now and having the most memorable life-changing experiences. I'll miss all the people I've met along the way, particularly my Camino whanau (that's far-no, not wa-now 😝). You're all welcome in NZ any time. As they say, the Camino never ends. We are now on the Camino of life. Buen Camino everyone, may the Camino of life provide, and may you all find the way (it's easy, just follow the yellow arrow of your heart 💛)
