Together drives the vision, one connection at a time 🤝
Loneliness Action Switzerland (LA-CH) is the Swiss chapter of Loneliness Global Action (LGA), based in Geneva, Switzerland. Loneliness isn’t just a personal feeling—it’s a public health crisis and a socio-economic challenge of our time. Data shows 1 in 3 people endure chronic loneliness; nearly a quarter of the population feels it. WHO labels it a global threat, with health risks on par with smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
📉 The world spends $2.7T/year on military.
🧬 WHO receives only $3B/year, yet loneliness still lacks a dedicated program—making it one of the most underfunded global health crises.
💰 The global cost of loneliness is $2T/year—about twice Switzerland’s GDP (~$947B)—an invisible drain through burnout, absenteeism, lost productivity, and rising healthcare costs. LGA is active in 10+ countries and aims for 100+ by 2026, spearheading a citizen-driven movement against loneliness worldwide. In Switzerland, the impact is clear: youth report rising isolation, many seniors feel overlooked, and families struggle to balance work and care. The cascading effects are evident—declining wellbeing, lost productivity, diminished empathy, and widening social divides. Our mission: break stigma, foster safe spaces for real human connection, deliver neutral and science-based education, and ensure citizens’ voices shape policy. Our values—authenticity, inclusion, empathy—reflect our belief that loneliness can only be overcome when communities act together. We champion cross-sector collaboration—responsive government, caring businesses, and empowered communities. United, we can build a healthier, more resilient society. Join us: share stories, support on social media, participate in community events, or simply be a listening ear. At LA-CH, you’re not just a member—you’re a changemaker. One connection can spark hope; one moment of presence can save a life.
