Zen. You’ve heard about it, but what exactly is it?

This ancient Buddhist tradition involves sitting upright and following the breath, particularly the way it moves in and out of the belly, and letting the mind “just be.” Its aim is to foster a sense of presence and alertness.
Loosely translated Zen means meditation, it means being aware and present in the moment.

One of the hardest things to achieve is calming our monkey mind as we meditate. We all experience stress, anxiety and negativity, and at times we run ourselves down with life.

But think of finding your inner Zen as improving your quality of life. Take those few extra minutes a day for yourself. Find that happy place. Breathe. Count your blessings!

Meditation is a great way to reconnect with your body and how you’re feeling. Call it your daily check-in.
By taking these few minutes a day to connect with yourself, you are cultivating your inner Zen.

Breathe and just let things be.

As the saying goes:
Relax. Nothing is under control.

Our modern day overstimulated hectic yang lifestyle often comes with a disconnection from nature and our bodies.

Yoga and mindfulness practices help us cultivate patience and acceptance of what is. So often when we are facing a challenging situation we want to control it. Change it. However, sometimes you can’t control it. You can’t change the situation. Sometimes it’s simply not in your hands, and you have done your part. Sometimes all you can do is take a deep breath, cultivate patience and accept what is simply is.

Yoga brings more awareness into our lives. It brings us into the present moment. The only place where life exists.
