In Ayurveda we recognize 6 different tastes.
🍯🍋🧂🥬🌶️🫘
For a balanced diet we should include all 6 of them, however in different proportions for each individual.

The 6 tastes are:
🍯Sweet
🍋Sour
🧂Salty
🥬Bitter
🌶️Pungent
🫘Astringent

Ayurveda is all about balance. As an example, if one has too much of fire element which manifests in one’s body and mind as heat, sweat, anger and irritation - this person should minimize foods which are rich in fire element such as chilies, hot / spicy / sour food, meat and large amounts of salt. Instead, they would benefit from a cooling & soothing diet.

To understand the 6 tastes, we need to first understand which dosha is currently our predominant one and is causing us some imbalance. Once we understand it, we can adjust our diet by decreasing intake of certain tastes and increasing the other ones.

The 3 doshas - vata, pitta & kapha - are present in each of us and in the environment around (you can understands basic principles by studying our previous carousel-posts). 🙌

🌺In Bali, the daily offering is a big part of the local culture.

🙌The traditional idea behind the offering is to help cultivate a sense of compassion and generosity towards other beings. Especially if one has enough for one’s own needs, one should also offer a little something to others to provide for their needs. Apart from grass and flowers, each offering also contains some food like rice, and on certain occasions fruits like bananas. Additionally, some homes also put a coin in their offering.

🌸The flowers are meant for the gods,
🌾 the food for ants and other insects,
🍌the fruits for animals such as monkeys
🪙and the small change for poor people.

In this way the daily offering is meant to awaken a sense of generosity and compassion to care for other beings apart from oneself. These few moments in prayer help us to become present.

💁🏻‍♀️Dear Ladies, we have prepared a list of natural remedies to help you deal with menstrual tension.

Often times us ladies reach for a painkiller to shut down the senses and be able to function on a regular basis🤯
Period doesn’t have to be uncomfortable and painful, and there are some awesome natural ways to help! If our cycle is well balanced, menstruation can be a great time to release all kinds of tensions, to take a step back to re-evaluate what we want, and to take necessary time to rest to rejuvenate.
If you experience intense physical or emotional pain, then this is a signal for you to listen to yourself, to observe and to learn about your cycle and yourself. This means that something is out of balance and requires your attention🫶
