It's a time of preparation for welcoming Nyepi, here in Bali.
On Wednesday 6th, March the streets will be energised with forms of Ogoh Ogoh👹👺🧟‍♂️ paraded through all the villages.
The main purpose of making the Ogoh-ogoh is for the purification of the natural environment of any spiritual pollutants emitted from the activities of living beings (especially humans). The forms of Ogoh-Ogoh represent the Bhuta-Kala (Bhuta: eternal energy, Kala: eternal time).
The Balinese dedication to this mythology is beautifully hand crafted by youths and artist in each community.

This is followed by Nyepi🙏; the Day of Silence, fasting and meditation across Bali. When the whole island shuts down and everyone retreats into silence.
