The death has occurred of Margaret Hayes (née Smyth), Skryne.

Margaret died peacefully and beautifully today, Sunday, at her home in Skryne, County Meath, surrounded by her family and in the arms of her daughter and her grandchildren, at the wonderful age of 93.

Predeceased by her loving husband Jim, her beloved son Gerard, sisters Mary, Carmel, baby Eileen and brothers Sean and Denis.

Everybody who knows Margaret will know the truly remarkable woman she was. Not only because of the contribution she made to so many lives, but also because of the brave and generous person she was, full of life, full of fun, full of forgiveness.

Margaret will be missed by so many people who knew and loved her and especially by her children, Mary, Liam, Carmel-Anne and Eileen, her sister Emily, brothers Patrick and Brian, her sisters-in-law, her 13 grandchildren, her 2 great-granddaughters, her nephews and nieces, sons-in law, daughter-in-law and many friends and neighbours.

All will feel enormously grateful to life and to her for all she has given them and will continue to give.

Predeceased by his wife Anne, his parents James and Ellen, his brother JJ (Br. Januarius), his sisters Nancy (Sr. Baptist), Peggie (Sr. Catherine) and Eileen (Sr. Brigid).

Loving father of John and Edel. Sadly missed by his family, his adored granddaughter Rose, his sister Maureen (Sr. Enda), son-in-law Conor, sister-in-law, his extended family, neighbours and his friends.

Jean peacefully passed away in Connolly Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family, on Christmas Day, 25th December 2025.

Predeceased by her parents Bill and May Kenny, and her triplet siblings Billy and Peggy. Deeply regretted by her loving husband James (Jim), and much-loved mother to Ciarán (Faye), Anne Marie (Peter), James (Louise), Sarahjane (Neil) and daughter-in-law Christine. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Adam, Cormac and Jake; Robert and Kate; Leah, Abbie and Ethan; Kyle and Amber-Lee, and great grandchild Finn, as well as her brothers Maurice and Pat, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.
