Want to have your say in how research is carried out for children with cerebral palsy? I am currently designing a study to test out an intensive therapy to help target walking goals in children with CP as part of my doctorate in RCSI. I am looking for children with CP aged 6 to 17 who don't mind sharing their opinions and giving feedback in a group discussion to help me design my research study to make it as relevant as possible. This podcast is well worth a listen for any parent with a child with Cerebral Palsy or indeed any therapist that works with children or adults with CP. Dr. Karen Pape was a leader in trying to change the minds of physicians in relation to expected outcomes for children diagnosed with CP. In this podcast she outlines her thoughts on interventions we should be doing and those practices that have been ongoing for years that just don't seem to work and why.

**UPDATE**
It has been a long time since I have posted on this page. I closed my doors when Covid arrived and moved full time to working in the public sector. Although I am no longer operating privately I've decided to use this page to share knowledge about new and exciting ideas emerging in the field of children's disability rehabilitation.
It can be a mine field for parents and therapists to navigate what therapies are beneficial or not for their children. I hope this page can help to keep you informed on emerging research. I also can run some online information workshops if there is interest in any particular area.

Toe Walking is commonly seen in children with Autism or sensory processing disorders. It can also happen with children that do not have these conditions. It can be a compensation for a weak core or unstable foot also. Doctors will sometimes tell you not to worry, that they will grow out of it. And sometimes they will however, long-term issues with joint pain and injuries are a risk. The ability to walk with full foot contact on the ground has major impacts not just on the body physically but also emotionally, socially and cognitively. If you have concerns that your child walks on their toes, message me today :)
