January can be a tough month for mental health. The aftermath of Christmas, the dark and cold evenings and the return to work where everyone feels the same after a break. If you feel blue in January take some time to yourself to give yourself a break. As humans we have expectations that all is supposed to be 'ok' for us to be 'ok'. Sometimes it isn't, and we need time and compassion to remind ourselves that 'I'm not ok, and that's OK'.
If you need to talk SOL Therapy is always available to listen but sometimes you have the power to listen to yourself too, take some time and come back to you. It can be a tough month.

We at SOL Therapy wish you all a very Happy and peaceful Christmas and a wonderful start to 2023.

Counselling offers many different avenues for connecting with parts of yourself that may appear or seem disconnected. Talking with a professional counsellor in an accepting, compassionate and safe space has the power to allow you to begin to validate your emotions and to move towards a space where hope can begin to appear.

Talking has not always been the 1st thing men do when they're struggling with their mental health. On the 11th of December at 9am in Glenmalure in Co. Wicklow bolandjohn0 and thelemonadekart are hosting a men's only walk and talk to in remembrance of all men who struggle or have lost their struggle to the tougher side of their mental health.
SOL Therapy will be in attendance to support and have a chat on the day.

Come out and let's change the trend and begin the conversation....talking gets the words out and releases the hold silence has on the struggle.

Talking with a counsellor can help you identify potential symptoms and triggers that may be at root of how you are feeling or what concerns you may have. SOL Therapy utilise a compassionate space that both you and the counsellor can learn more about your emotional wellbeing and how this has changed to be of concern over time. Through awareness and support the counseling relationship can help you explore and discover long-term solutions. The insight and skills you learn during our sessions can give you the capacity and means to continually grow and improve long after the sessions are over.

Sometimes asking for help can be the most daunting thing in the world, but can also be the most rewarding and life changing thing any of us will ever do. Be kind and caring to yourself and don't suffer in silence when the chance to be listened to and heard is behind a long deep breath and a message or a phone call to someone who sees the bravery in the action.

Why Come for Counselling?
Counselling offers an opportunity to understand difficulties, make choices and clear a tangled path to help navigate a way forward. Some people find it feels freeing to talk about personal issues to someone who isn’t involved in their life and they find that they can talk easily as they don’t have to worry about upsetting anyone they care about or being upset themselves. People attend who may be feeling depressed or anxious and know that they want to feel differently. They come to seek help with discovering fresh perspectives, with identifying belief systems that are unhelpful and developing strategies for coping with change. Or, in some cases it may be quite clear about what changes they’re seeking but they need some support and guidance in how to manage these changes. Whatever the reason, counselling can help to make a difference. Don’t suffer in silence.
