Congrats Nicola on a World Class Performance

🥈Olympian and World Championship finalist Nicola Tuthill delivered a superb performance in Nicosia, winning SILVER in the women’s hammer throw with a new PERSONAL BEST of 72.48m🤩

The result is even more impressive after a disrupted few months for the UCD AC athlete following the World Championships in Tokyo📈

Tuthill has a tumultuous relationship with the European Throwing Cup. In Leiria 2022, she suffered a fractured and dislocated elbow during the U23 hammer competition. But she returned stronger than ever, becoming the first Irish athlete to win a medal at the event with silver in Leiria 2023, repeating the feat again the following year🤩

Last year in Nicosia, she made history by becoming the first Irish gold medallist at the European Throwing Cup, winning the U23 hammer title👏

Another incredible performance from Nicola. 🇮🇪💪

Women’s Hammer Throw Results:
🥇 Katrine Koch Jacobsen – 75.52m (NR, WL)
🥈 Nicola Tuthill – 72.48m (PB)
🥉 Guðrún Karítas Hallgrímsdóttir – 71.41m (NR, PB)

Congrats Meave. Well deserved

If anyone has any queries about exercises and management of fibromyalgia please contact the clinic on 086 8049526

Fibromyalgia is a long-term chronic condition, and recovery varies from person to person. There’s no known cure, but there are treatments, therapies and self-management techniques which can help to improve your symptoms.

Unlike some other forms of arthritis, fibromyalgia does not, in itself, cause any lasting damage to the body’s tissues, even though the symptoms may sometimes be very similar. Trying to keep active, however, can help to avoid secondary problems caused by weakening of the muscles (deconditioning). Read our new fibromyalgia booklet, which includes common symptoms, risk factors, self-management and lifestyle tips to manage symptoms 👉https://www.arthritisireland.ie/Handlers/Download.ashx?IDMF=fce0ef31-a20b-461d-b265-c9946fc3bb68

If you think that you may have fibromyalgia or if you have been recently diagnosed, you could benefit from calling Arthritis Ireland’s Helpline for support and information. The lines are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm on 0818 252 846.
