Providing counselling for clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, separation and relationship issues. Integrative Counselling approach in my practice; however, my core approach is person-centred which leads to psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral therapy as required. In addition I offer a Creative Therapeutic Counselling (CTC) model which is particularly beneficial for Children and Young people. As a counsellor we listen carefully to clientβs thoughts and feelings. However, when working with children and young people they may not be able to identify or express themselves through words. Sometimes young people do not have the language or words to describe their thoughts and feelings. Through the therapeutic use of Art, play and the sand tray clients can work issues out and make sense of their troubles. The sand tray helps clients unearth their unconscious thoughts. Working with this medium allows clients to go beyond the cognitive level and work at gut level. Play & creativity become the language and the toys or artwork make up the words. This enables their voices to be heard in doing so clients feel empowered and valued. This allows clients to work through issues and make sense of their troubles. By engaging the imagination, we can help clients process and face their challenges in a safe, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential environment.
