5 Simple Wellbeing Tips for the Winter season

As the evenings grow darker and the chill sets in, autumn is the perfect time to slow down and care for your wellbeing. Here are 5 small seasonal tips to help you feel more grounded this autumn:

- Get Outside (Even on Grey Days)
Make the most of crisp air and golden light, even a short walk helps clear your mind.

- Eat Seasonally
Root vegetables, warming soups, and herbal teas support your body’s natural rhythm.

- Create a Cosy Wind-Down Routine
Switch off devices early, light a candle, and give yourself time to properly rest.

- Soak Up Natural Light
Try to get daylight first thing in the morning to help regulate your mood and energy levels.

- Stay Connected
Autumn can feel isolating, check in with a friend, join a yoga class, or speak to a practitioner if needed.

🍃 Mind yourself this season. Your wellbeing matters.

Take a breath and repeat with me:

“I am open to the week ahead, and I trust myself to handle whatever comes my way.” 🌱

A gentle reminder that strength doesn’t always mean control, it often means trust.

🕰 Clocks Go Back This Sunday

This Sunday, 26th October, the clocks go back in Ireland. Gaining an extra hour in bed is lovely, but the shift to darker evenings can affect our sleep, mood, and energy more than we realise.

Even a one-hour change can throw our body clock off, leaving us feeling tired or low in mood. For some, it can also bring the first signs of seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Here are a few simple ways to ease the transition:
🌤 Step outside into daylight first thing, it helps reset your body clock.
🕯 Keep a steady sleep and meal routine.
🚶 Move daily, even a short walk helps.
💬 Stay connected, long evenings can feel isolating.

As winter settles in, let this clock change be a reminder to slow down, rest, and look after yourself. 💛

🌿 Wellbeing Word of the Month: Forest Bathing 🌳

Ever heard of Shinrin-yoku?
It’s the Japanese practice of “forest bathing” — simply spending mindful time in nature, soaking in the sights, sounds, and fresh air of the trees.

Studies show it can lower stress, boost mood, and even support heart health. 🍃
