Nutrition is vital to a child's health, but the last thing any modern-day parent needs is another nonorganic, fast food shaming exercise. Instead, we should aim to understand the ‘why’ of nutrition. That, together with a pinch of gratitude, a dash of good humour, and some 20th-century food sense, will help you make food – not war!

Beautiful piece in the The Irish Times by Sheila Wayman this morning on Kinderfli 's first health and development literacy support initiative. With , a diversity and inclusion in childhood awareness campaign runnig from 1 September – 20 October 2021, Kinderfli, Buddy Bench Ireland, Bear Essentials, schooldays.ie, Tracto and Mums & Tots hope to encourage families across Ireland and further afield to celebrate diversity and inclusion in childhood by sharing photos and stories of toys and the different children they bring comfort to.

Leading the campaign by example is Saoirse Ruane, who stole the nation’s heart on the 2020 Toy Show. The brave nine-year-old from Galway is joined by her pal ‘Slush’ and her little sister Farrah Rose and her ‘Buddies’.

How can we help our children to reach their full potential?

We can overwhelm parents with coping methods, protocols and steps to help their children, or we can help them understand child development and health – empowering to them to discover their own, simplified, holistic and sustainable path to happiness, health and development. Insight matters!
