SPRING COVID BOOSTER VACCINE

The protection from previous doses or a COVID-19 infection may weaken over time. Booster doses help boost your antibodies and give you good protection from becoming seriously ill or needing to go to hospital if you get COVID-19.

Who can get a Booster
You will be offered a booster dose from April 2026 if you are:

age 80 years or older
age 18 years and older living in a long term care facility for older adults
age 18 years with a condition that puts you at high risk of serious illness from COVID-19

How long to wait
You have to leave some time between your booster and your last COVID-19 vaccine or COVID-19 infection.

If you are eligible for a Spring booster vaccine, you should wait at least 3 months since your last COVID-19 vaccination or COVID-19 infection before getting it.

Anyone aged over 18 years who is not in any of the groups listed above, can get a COVID-19 vaccine (once per year), and if eligible can get a vaccine in the spring 2026 campaign if they choose to, following discussion with a healthcare provider.
