Laraslatteryhealthandwellness.com Mother, daughter, sister, friend, now in the middle of my life, I am committed to creating a life that nurtures me, allows me to be myself and where I can add to my community. In 2005 I took my first reiki course, left my corporate role to care for my kids, and from there it was a roller coaster of deep dive into the world of eastern medicine, shamanic tools, life lessons, shadow work, movement and so much more. As a breathing specialist I help people breathe for life, release, functionality, as a movement therapist, I help people move for better living, feeling, and moving, as an energy medicine practitioner I get to stand beside people as they step forward into change, healing and releasing. I love my work, I live it, and I want to see everyone succeed. Whether its 1 to 1, groups, talks, corporate, ceremony, or collaborations, my work is never work, I look forward to every day. Life is for living after all and we get to write the script. Find more information on www.laraslatteryhealthandwellness.com

"Neurodiverse individuals have had to adapt all their lives and are excellent problem solvers, which makes them a huge asset to any team'

I'm proud of this piece in The Times talking about the importance of neurodiversity in the workplace.

Monday reflections

Its very easy to look at others and assume they have it all figured out or make assumptions about their demeanour.

From recent living and exploration with clients, its very evident that people wear masks and more importantly they often dont admit where they are in their lives. Sometimes its easier to push people away than say I'm hurting or I cant do this.

Inside all of us is a version of us probably between 7 and 14 years who saw the world for the first time. Some learned that to get attention they had to be over helpful, some learned that if they spoke up they would be punished and some learned you have to be strong, never show weakness and dear God if you cried that was because you were weak.

Part of my job is to help people understand its ok to cry, that its not a weakness, its a release, to remind them asking for help is actually strength and walk beside them while they attune to their real needs.

I wish a younger version of me understood that my avoidant friend was really drowning and too proud to say it, or that that didnt mean I was not good enough.

These days I take a breath before assuming and ask how can I support you before saying but why. We hold each other in friendship and relationship while we can, people come and go. Its important to remember the times that relationship supported your growth not just the time it made you question things. Both are growth as I really believe everyone comes into your life for growth and learning.

Its an honour to support someone looking to change and mend relationships and to be a witness to their making resolve.

To the little person inside all of us navigating this world, I see you, life is different, its ok to be your true self, the people who see you will love you just as you are. They are your people.

How beautiful is our town!! Today a friend hopped out of my car and said oh wow you dont see this every day, and I said I do. They then stood in awe of the geese, the fog hanging low over the inch field and the sun trying to sneak through. I never get tired of it.
People spend lots going on holidays to get a feeling and I have it every day in our town.
I stood on the bridge at the Swiss cottage today and I listened, to the quiet, and nature, the air was pure and the moment perfect in its natural wonder. I often think i spent half my life chasing a feeling and I found it where I used to play as a child. I'm alive in nature, full to the brim.
As someone studying human living and supporting others i know too well that this simple activity of bringing the body home to nature is one of our biggest healers. These trees saw my tears, the birds sang to me and the land held me many times.
Some people dont see this every day or cant, but I see it, I feel it and I crave it.
There is no one way to breathe that suits everyone yet nature helps us regulate breathing to a rthym that's just right. No counting, no explaining just natural rhythm with the earth and the air.
In shamanic wisdom, the air moves our thoughts, its blows away the cobwebs of our minds. We need fresh air to survive.
I guess I'm lucky to have always had this place.

I'm a holistic Coach with 20 years experience, Im tired of following the norm, doing things to be cool, seen or acknowledged.
I've built a toolbox that's real, authentic, that meets people where they are, that wont promise BS, that won't make you commit to lots of sessions, rather ones that promote change as its ready.
We are not here to fix or force, we are here to listen, be present, observe and allow.
I cant say this enough. Everytime I see cathartic forcing and people being photographed in a response or trying a pose, it makes me sad but also proud that I made that choice to not be that teacher. I've left spaces that invite safeness yet ask you to push through. We can never offer safety, but we can offer support, holding and witnessing. Safety comes when we can meet ourselves consciously and feel at home, its a dropping inward that is individual and unique.
As a teacher who creates events that meet people where they are, and reads the room, to provide what's right, I dont mind missing out for not photographing our authentic private shifts. I understand if im not picked for events from my instagram posts, I am aware that my right client will present when ready or may be in my room already.
My working space tends to be smaller, less people, more integration.
Each person is unique, no way of moving or healing fits all, as an experienced spaceholder I see you and want to know what makes you you.
I will continue being a voice for real people, real expression, real change, and will never try to be anyone other than myself. This body carried me here and it will carry me further and beyond if I meet it with love.
Join us anytime, without question in our community.
Much love Lara

I've been working more and more with teens. Helping them with breathing emotional and regulation of body mind system.
Today I see adults that came to me as teens. This rewarding work helps me give back to other parents and share my work.
Under 16 sessions are 35e.
