From fun-filled activities that brought smiles to all our Residents, to celebrating Dympna’s incredible 104th birthday 🎉, News of our team member, Alex, been awarded a 'Heart Award' from Grace Healthcare Ireland

This edition also includes a heartfelt memorial for our dear colleague Sheila, who we sadly lost in February. Her kindness and dedication touched us all — may she rest in peace. 🕊️

Good Friday at Castleross Nursing Home

We are blessed to share Holy Week with our community. Our resident, Lorcan from Broomfield House, has kindly recorded a prayer for Holy Week, which you can watch in the video below. 🙏

Join us for our Good Friday Service in the Oratory at 11:00 AM, followed by Stations of the Cross led by Lorcan at 3:00 PM for our residents.

We invite everyone to reflect, pray, and share in the spirit of this sacred day🙏.

And we wish you all a very happy, healthy, peaceful and fun Easter 2026 🍫🍬🍭

Throwing it back to St. Patrick’s Day at Castleross for ☘️

We had such a wonderful celebration filled with music, laughter, and plenty of dancing 💚

Gabrielle and Ann, our fantastic Castleross homemaker, took to the floor and brought great energy and joy to the day 💃

A huge thank you to Evelyn and her sister Anna Mc Caul for their beautiful music, which truly made the occasion so special 🎶

🍴 Culinary Excellence Across Grace Healthcare Ireland Nursing Homes - of which we are one.

On Thursday 12th March, Executive Chef Jose 👨‍🍳 brought together the talented chefs from all 10 Grace Healthcare Ireland homes 🏥 for an inspiring Culinary Day at Blenders Development Kitchen in Tallaght.

🔹 The day kicked off with a tour of Blenders’ production unit 🏭 — seeing how their sauces and condiments are made.
🔹 Chef Paul Bloxham, Culinary Director at Avendra International 🌍, shared insights on culinary trends, sustainability 🌱, and menu planning.
🔹 Chef Ronan Fox gave creative ideas on reducing food waste ♻️.
🔹 Chef Jose highlighted the philosophy behind Grace Healthcare’s catering approach ❤️.

🥘 The grand finale? A friendly cooking competition using Eat Curious products 🥦 — where creativity and collaboration were the main ingredients! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

At Grace Healthcare, the catering teams ensures high-quality, nutritious meals 🍲 tailored to every resident’s dietary needs. Working with our dietitians 🥗 and nursing teams 🩺, we focus on health, wellbeing, and enjoyment every day.

🎨 Creativity in Full Bloom at Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross 🌸

This week, our residents enjoyed a wonderful landscape painting class 🌿🌅, and the talent on display was truly amazing👏The room was full of colour, imagination, and smiles 😄 as everyone brought their own unique scenes to life.

The results speak for themselves 🖼️💛 — beautiful artwork created with care and creativity, now proudly displayed in our home for everyone to enjoy.

👏 Well done to our “Artists” and a big thank you to our Activities Coordinators, Francis and Amy, for all their support 🎨

☀️ What a beautiful afternoon we had at Castleross Nursing Home on Friday🍦

We were delighted to welcome back Enda “Mc Moo’s” ice cream van — the perfect treat on such a sunny day 🍦🌼

Lorcan made the most of the lovely weather, enjoying some quiet time outdoors with his newspaper before taking a stroll over to the ice cream van — a simple pleasure that brought a big smile 😊

Another lovely moment was captured in our reception area, where residents gathered together to enjoy their ice creams and a chat before heading in for the Rosary at 3pm 🙏

Our staff took the orders from Residents and delivered the Ice Cream treats 😋

Days like these are all about fresh air, good company, and sweet treats 💛

🌸 Ladies’ Day at Castleross Nursing Home Carrickmacross🌸

Our Residents at Killanny, Lisdoonan & Broomfield Houses had a wonderful time celebrating Ladies’ Day (that is what we call Mother's Day)
Each lady was delighted to receive a beautiful flower pot, kindly donated once again this year by Churchview Flowers Carrickmacross. A huge thank you from all of us at Castleross for such a generous and thoughtful gift – it truly made the day extra special. 💐

🍀 A busy week at Castleross Nursing Home 🍀 as we get ready for the weekend, Mother’s Day, and St. Patrick’s Day.

🎨 Monday 9 March – Card Making Workshop & Coffee & Treat Time in our Castleross Village Square. Residents got creative making Mother’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day cards.

💐 Wednesday 11 March – Flower Arranging in Killanny House. Some of our residents got camera shy, so we just have a few photos:, The beautiful arrangements are now brightening bedrooms and sitting rooms throughout our home.

💐 Thursday 12 March – More Flower arranging - this tiem in Lisdoonan House: Some of the arrangements are nowdecorating our home and oratory. Mary (2nd pic) from Broomfield House couldn’t resist a photo with the gorgeous arrangement before it was placed in reception

☕ Sunday 15 March – Mother’s Day (or “Ladies’ Day” as we like to call it)
The kitchen staff will prepare afternoon tea stands for residents, and each lady will receive a lovely flower pot gift from Castleross Nursing Home Management. 🌷💛

🎶 St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations
We’ll have a little hoolie in each of our Houses, with music from the wonderful Evelyn McCaul — a perfect way to celebrate the day 💚

It’s been a great week of creativity, flowers, treats, and music — we love seeing our residents so happy and involved.
