Our Story
Cairde Clubhouse is located in Rock Square Castlebar. It was set up in 2003 as a drop in centre for persons with mental health issues as a place to meet up and chat, support each other and recieve help from a small team of care staffon a range of issues from a basic chat to help with social skills, filling in of benefit forms, to support with housing.
Cairde Clubhouse was named after the word 'cairde' which means 'friend' in Irish. The Clubhouse is very much a member centred service where every individual has something valuable to contribute.
The Centre aims to promote positive mental health. Members work alongside staff in operating the centre and can participate in planning a range of social, vocational and activities.
CAIRDE CLUBHOUSE GUARANTEES MEMBERS THE RIGHT TO:
* A place to come.
* Develop friendships.
* Meaningful activities.
WHO CAN JOIN:
* Persons with a primary diagnosis of mental health.
* Persons living in the community or if in hospital have a definite discharge plan.
* MUST be over 18 years of age.
