What this service is about

We are a group of residents living in the Lucan, North Clondalkin and Palmerstown Area, who are ready and willing to assist those that need it with collections and deliveries for those who are unable to get out to shops for available essential supplies due to self-isolation, illness or as a primary child-minder. This could be emergency shopping, things like batteries or phone chargers, candles or stamps and includes dropping or collecting items from relatives who do not have a car. We will also provide a limited printing and document scanning/conversion service for those without the tools to do so. Unfortunately we cannot help with medical items. We also cannot deal directly with any person under the age of 18,

We will observe all protocols in relation to “social distancing” and will keep well away from people in their homes. We will contact before deliveries and advise all people to speak from their windows to verify that the delivery is genuine. We will wear protective gloves when delivering items. Droppers will only know the address of the property being delivered to and those receiving items will only know their first names for security verification.

Our group includes a number of elected representatives (Cllr Guss O’Connell and Cllr Paul Gogarty) who will act as trusted liaisons and GDPR guardians to ensure that no personal data is retained or shared. This page and all its contents will be deleted after the crisis is over. Communication will largely be by private message only as the service is for people who will always be in their homes. However if you need to speak on the phone we will pass on details of elected reps who you can phone or text directly and we will get them to call you back.
