For the last number of years instagram has been my space to celebrate cold water swims, outdoor adventures big and small, and the healing power of nature. And while I’ve shared about my personal life in varying depths I don’t think many of you will know what I do for a living.
For the past decade I’ve been working as an Occupational therapist — helping people to improve their quality of life. I’ve worked in a lot of different therapeutic settings but I find the most joy in helping my neurodivergent kin find the self compassion to live their life on their terms.
This year I’m launching my own private practice in the hope that I can reach more people then my work in public services has allowed me to do. I want to provide therapy in a more client centred and nature based manner. If you want therapy that includes a walk in the forest, tea in the garden or a swim at the beach then I am your girl. For those who are not blessed to live in the South West of Ireland I’ll also have an online offering but you bet I’ll be prescribing a heavy dose of time outdoors.
So I’m gently merging both my worlds. You’ll still see swims, hikes, and wildflowers. But you’ll also find reflections on mental health, nervous system regulation, and nature-based therapy. If you’re curious about my work please give my OT page a follow for more updates.
Thanks for being here 🤍
