Obituary - 20th April 2026

The death has occurred of Kathleen McLoughlin, née Ward, Carton Square, Maynooth, Co. Kildare and formerly of Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick - 18th April 2026, peacefully at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin. Beloved wife of the late Sean McLoughlin (Castlerea). Predeceased by her mother Kit, father Maurice and sister Eileen. Kathleen will be deeply regretted by her sister Nora Coll (Leixlip) and brother Dennis (Abbeyfeale), sisters-in-law, Mary Teresa and Madeline, brother-in-law Con, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended famiy and many friends.

Reposing in Gaynor's Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Wednesday evening from 5 pm to 7.00 pm, followed by Prayers and reception into St. Patrick's Church, Castlerea. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan arriving for committal service at 2.15pm.

Obituary - 17th April 2026

The death has occurred of Margaret Mary Keaveney, (née Kinnarney), Whitechurch, Rathfarnham and formally of Leamoare, Co. Offally and Ballycarron, Co. Tipperary – 15th April 2026, peacefully with her family by her side at Tallaght Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by her late loving husband Patrick (Ballindollaghan, Ballinagare), mother and father, Mary and Michael, sisters Josie and Bridie and her brothers Paddy, Johnny, Mick and Martin.

Beloved mother to Mary and her husband Alan and Andrew and his partner Denise. Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her grandchildren, Josephine, Grace and James, her sisters, Nellie and Anne, brother Jim, brother-in-law Tom and sister-in-law Mary, sister-in-law Bridget Nicholson (Knockarush) and her son Padraig and his family, nieces and nephews, cousins in both Offaly and the UK, extended family, neighbours, her dear carer Thais and many many friends.

Reposing at Gaynor's Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Sunday evening from 6pm to 7.30 pm, followed by Prayers and reception into the Church of the Sacred Heart, Ballinagare (F45Y326) arriving for 8pm. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am, followed by burial in Baslick Cemetery.

Obituary - 6th April 2026

The death has occurred of Tom (Thomás) Byrne, Knockroe, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and formerly of McHale Road, Castlebar, Co. Mayo - 6th April 2026, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at the Roscommon Hospice. He is predeceased by his parents Tommy and Maggie and his sister Anne. Tom will be sadly missed by his heartbroken children, Jennifer (Reilly, Belmullet), Claire (London), and Tommy (Dublin), adored grandchildren Ella and Daithí, brothers Seamus, Liam, Sean, Padraig and Brendan, his sister Ena (Tobin), son-in-law David, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Obituary- 6th April 2026

The death has occurred of Anne Neary (née Casey), Knockroe, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon after a short illness at the Roscommon Hospice on 5th April 2026.
Predeceased by her Mother Agnes, Father William sisters Una and Kathleen and her brothers Jimmy and Hugh.
Anne will be dearly and lovingly missed by her husband Pat, daughter Anne, son Stephen, son in law John, daughter in law Mary and brother Bill. She will be fondly remembered by her cherished grandchildren Catriona, Ashling, Shane, Liam and her adored great-grand daughters Eabha, Sadhbh and Maya, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, kind neighbours and friends.

Obituary - 17th March 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the death of Sean Farrell, Castleteehan, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, on 16th March 2026. Sean passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness, in the care of the kind staff of the University Hospital Galway (UHG). Predeceased by his mother Rita and brother-in-law Andrew. Sean will be sadly missed and eternally remembered by his partner Mary and their children Ann and Sean, by his devoted father John, brother David and sisters Mary, Kathleen, Audrey, Alma, Hazel, and Carol. Fondly remembered & deeply missed by his sister-in-law Rena, brothers-in-law Richard, Fergus, Austin, Patrick and Enda and by his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Samuel, Peter, Emma, Ciara, David, John, Grace, Anna, Lucy, Daniel, Ellen, Sadie, Jamie and Dylan and grand-nephew Charlie, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and his many good friends across the country.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Áine.

The death has occurred of Áine Gallagher (Betagh), Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and Gortnor Abbey, Crossmolina, Co. Mayo – 11th March 2026, peacefully, surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family in the exceptional care of the staff at The Mayo Hospice, after a long illness borne with courage, determination and dignity.

Predeceased by her infant brother Thomas.

Áine will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, husband Edmund Betagh, parents Tommy and Kathleen (née Forde), brother Rory (Athlone), sister Siobhán (Glencorrib), parents-in-law Richard and Jean Betagh, brother-in-law Thomas and his partner Emma, sister-in-law Alma, brother-in-law Martyn Kennett, nieces Annabel, Moya and Aoibh, nephews Conor, Xander and Charlie, godchildren Laila and Felix, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, colleagues, neighbours and a very large circle of friends.

Galway (Retired Nurse) - 11th March 2026, peacefully in Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, after a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by her baby daughter Mary Frances, her parents John and Mary, brother Anthony and brother-in-law Kieran Murray. Nora will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Richard, her sister Kathleen (Murray), brothers Jack and Seamus, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
