Obituary - 19th January 2026
The death has occurred of Harry Connolly, Church Hill, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, 18th January 2026, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of the staff at the Roscommon Hospice. Predeceased by his beloved wife Celia. Harry will be sadly missed by his children, Annmarie (Hickey, Galway), Gerry (Sligo), Deirdre (Connolly, Malahide) and Harriet (Sandyford), grandchildren Lisa, Lauren, Aoife, Juliette, Ronan and Rowan, partners Daniel and Jamie, great-grandchildren Grace and Tom, sons-in-law Paul and Liam, daughter-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, cousin John Deacy, relatives and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing in Gaynor's Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Wednesday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea for Requiem Mass on Thursday 11am, after which Harry will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

The death has occured of Brendan Silver, Caravan Road, Dungloe, Donegal and formerly of Tarmon, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon & Dublin, peacefully at his home. (Ex Bus Eireann).

Survived by his heartbroken partner Anne-Majella, his sisters Patricia, Phil, Catherine Breege Anne and his brother Mick. His god-daughters Deborah and Catherine. Also the Gallagher and Quinn Families, his nieces and nephews and his many friends. Pre-deceased by his mother Bridie, father Michael, sister Mary (USA), brother Gerard and John (USA).

The wake will take place at his home at (F94KP83) on Caravan Rd Dungloe from 11am on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th with Rosary both nights at 8pm. Funeral Mass will take place in St. Crona's Church Dungloe at 1pm on Sunday 11th with burial in the old graveyard.

Obituary - 4th January 2026

The death has occurred of Ivan Finch, Main Street, Castlerea and late of Ballindrimley, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon – 3rd January 2026. He is predeceased by his parents Josephine and Ted, brother Billy and his infant twin brother. Ivan will be forever and sadly missed by his brother Joe (Nenagh), sister Eve (Liverpool), sister-in-law Mary, brother-in-law Albert, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

May Ivan Rest In Peace.

The death has occurred of Martin Brennan, 4 St. Kevin’s Terrace, Church Road, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and formerly of Foughill, Trien, Castlerea and London, England - 3rd January 2026, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Aras Mathair Phoil, Castlerea. Martin is predeceased by his brother Joe, sister-in-law Mary and niece Mary. He will be sadly missed by his nephews, Michael, Tommy and Martin, nieces, Joan and Carmel (Australia), grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Padraig Morgan, Knockroe, Castlerea, and formerly of Killerr, Ballintubber, Co. Roscommon - 14th December 2025, suddenly at his home. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Una, and nieces Tracey Brennan and Lisa Higgins. Padraig will be sadly missed by his loving sisters Bernie, Kathleen, Freda, Noreen, Joan and Pauline, auntie Nora, brothers-in-law Michael Joe, Derek, MJ, Ronald and Paul, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Obituary - 8th December 2025

The death has occurred of Colm Keely Caulfields Lane, Castlerea and Martry, Elphin, Co. Roscommon - December 8th 2025, peacefully after a short illness bravely borne at Mayo Hospice, Castlebar. Colm, beloved brother of Geraldine, Joe, Vincent and Niall, and beloved father of Jo, Jade and Martin. Sadly missed by his loving family, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins, relatives, his large circle of wonderful friends and his best pal Buddy.

Rest in Peace.
