On Friday night last, 6 February 2026 in the Slieve Rossa Pub Cavan, the Gallant Challenge Committee presented St Christopher’s Hospice with the proceeds from the 2025 challenge. The total raised was a WHOPPING €45,000
Sincere thanks to Michael Mooney and the Slieve Rossa for hosting Friday night’s event and for the lovely refreshments provided. We would like to thank all the singers who came - it was a mighty sing song and enjoyed by all!
Thanks to all the people who helped fundraise or organise events which raised money for the Gallant Challenge. A special word of thanks to John Gorman for all his help with selling raffle tickets and bucket collecting. Also we really appreciate all the people who helped out on collections - often giving up their time and braving terrible weather conditions - we are extremely grateful.
Also a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated/bought raffle tickets or contributed in any way - without you all this would not be possible! Finally thanks to everyone who had helped out in whatever capacity throughout the walk - it is truly appreciated.
To reach the milestone of €590,000 is just incredible and it is simply down to the kindness and support of the great people of Cavan. We are very lucky to be from this great county.
We look forward to more fundraising throughout 2026 as this year marks the 21st Challenge!
