The death has occurred of Josephine (Josie) Dowd (nee Malone), Bridge Street, Cootehill and formally Cornabeagh, Kill, Co. Cavan April 16th 2026 peacefully in her 95th year, surrounded by her loving family in the loving care of Virginia Community Care, Illankirka Ward.


Beloved wife of the late Jimmy and much loved mother of Audrey, Eamonn (Ursula), Tina (Chris), Betty (Kevin), and Conor (Sarah). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Niamh, Karla, Eoin, Orla, Aaron, James, Ciara and Finn, great grandchildren Ailbhe, Lottie and Éala, relatives and a large circle of friends.

The death has occurred of Vera Greenan (née Ruddy), The Beeches, Station Road, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, and formerly of Lismullig, Poles, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully on 13th April 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Barney, her parents Paddy and Mary Ruddy, and her brothers P.J. and Seamus.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, her children Sandra (Philip), Martina and Barney (Maria), her cherished grandchildren Ben, Rebecca, Niamh and Emma, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

The death has occurred of John A. Blakey, Piobaire, Kilatee, Maudabawn, Cootehill, Co. Cavan and formerly Leeds, Yorkshire, England, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 2nd 2026.


Beloved husband of Maria (Fitzpatrick), cherished father of Kiera and Holly, adored grandfather of Aneirin and Winter.

Predeceased by his brother Peter and sister-in-law Joyce.


John will be dearly missed by his heartbroken family, brothers Mick and Chris, sons-in-law Chris and Gwilym, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.
