The death has occurred of John Scorr, 62 Drumnaveil, Cootehill, Co.Cavan, December 26th 2025 peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home. Predeceased by his daughters Helen and Lena, parents Owen and Olive, brothers and sisters.


Deeply regretted and sadly by his loving family, his sons Darren (Helen) and Joe, grandchildren Grace and Tommy, brothers Philip and Pa**ie, sisters Mary, Bernie and Olive, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home, Cootehill (H16 FD25), this Sunday evening from 4pm to 6pm. Removal leaving Mullen’s Funeral Home on Monday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Cootehill for 11 o’clock Funeral Mass, followed by burial in St Michael’s cemetery.

The death has occurred of Fr. Eugene King OMI, Ottawa, Canada, formerly of Drumhirk, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, peacefully in hospital in Ottawa on Thursday 18th December 2025.

Predeceased by parents Robert and Annie, brothers Gerard and Robert, and sister Mary. Gene will be sadly missed by his nieces Alexandra, Louise and Bernadette, nephews Robert and Stephen, cousins from the King and Dowd families, and many dear colleagues and friends.


May his soul Rest in Peace.


Funeral on Saturday 10th January at Sacre Coeur Parish in Ottawa at 11 am.

The death has occurred of Bernadette Morris (née Fitzpatrick), Middle Chapel Road, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, November 29th 2025 peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Predeceased by her husband Patrick Joseph, Parents James and Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Brothers Jimmy, Hubert and Pa**ie, Sisters Gretta and Joan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family Daughters Linda and Joan, Sons Pat, Martin and Adrian, Son-in-law, Daughters-in-law, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Sister-in-law Elsie, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at her Son and Daughter-in-law Martin and Nuala's residence (H16 CN39) this Sunday November 30th from 3pm – 9pm. Removal leaving her residence on Monday morning to arrive at St. Mary’s Church Middle Chapel, Cootehill for 11.30am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

A shuttle bus will be operating from St. Mary’s Church, Middle Chapel Car Park on Sunday.

The death has occurred of Mary McCagh, formerly of Cordoagh, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, suddenly but peacefully in the devoted care of the staff at St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan on Tuesday 18th November 2025.

Predeceased by her husband Francis, Parents Robert and Annie, Brothers Gerard and Robert. Mary will be sadly missed by her Brother Eugene, nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends.
