The death has occurred of Donie (Patrick) Sheridan, Wateraughey, Corlismore, Co Cavan, Wednesday April 1st, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Surgical 1 and the Palliative care team.

Pre-deceased by his sister Rita Quinn and infant brother Gerard, his parents Patrick and Minnie, and his niece Amy Sheridan.

Beloved and devoted husband of Bridie and loving father of Raymond (Laura Pearson), Frances (Steven Smith) and Olivia (Trevor Cartwright), his adored grandchildren Paudie, Joe, Jake, Aly, Kacey and Éalla, brothers Jim and Tom, sisters Eileen Shanaghy and Mary Sheridan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives, and wide circle of friends.

The death has occurred of Alan Murray, Corlisalee, Cavan, H12P702.

Our Alan left us too soon, passing peacefully on Sunday 29th March 2026 in the loving arms of his devoted family. Our gentle, talented, fun, loving family man will be sorely missed by his childhood sweetheart Edel, sons Bobby and Seanie, and daughter Fiadh, his adored parents Jimmy and Geraldine, his big sisters Sabrina (Michael) and Gemma (Tony), his big brother James (Fiona) and his treasured cousin Levi. He will be deeply missed by his precious nieces Emmie, Amber, Cadhla, Rebecca, Sadie and Rosie, nephews Adam, Max, Iarlaith and Freddie.


Though his time with us was too short the love he shared with us and his extended family and friends will live on forever.


Alan will repose at his home in Corlisalee (H12P702) from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday 31st March. Alan’s Funeral Mass will take place in the Cathedral of St Patrick and St Felim on Wednesday April 1st at 3pm, with interment in St Bridget’s Cemetery, Killygarry.

A Shuttle bus will be in operation from the Backyard, Moynehall (H12W5D4) as there is no parking at the house.

John's Funeral Arrangements Have Been Added

The death has occurred of John O’Neill, Hammersmith, London, UK, and formerly of Carrickmore, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully on 26th February, 2026.

Predeceased by his parents James and Mary O’Neill, and his brothers Patrick and Andrew (Joan).

John will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers Jimmy (Chrissie R.I.P.), Ballyhaise, and Brendan (Carol Ann), Canada, his sister Maureen, Cavan, sister-in-law Barbara, Canada, and his nieces and nephews in Ireland and Canada: Shane, Ciaran, Mary, Irene, Jane, Andrea, Teresa, Rachel, James, Katelyn, Seán, Jennifer and Brendan Jr., as well as extended family and friends.

Special recognition and sincere thanks to cousins Teresa Rowe (Martin) and Terence O’Neill, Portsmouth, UK, who were nearby to give their kind support and assistance to John, particularly during his final illness in Hammersmith.

Heartfelt thanks also to Marie, regarded by the family as an exemplary friend and devoted carer to John for many years, assisting him with cooking, cleaning, shopping and daily errands when he was unable.

The family would also like to acknowledge with gratitude John’s medical team and the palliative care workers for their dedicated care.

The death has occurred of Fr. Oliver O'Reilly, formerly of Cloncose, Cornafean, Co. Cavan, peacefully in the loving care of his family and the staff of the Cherry Ward, Connolly Hospital and St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown, 21st March 2026.

Fr. Oliver is predeceased by his parents, John P. and Rose, sister Angela Masterson, his brother Seamus, niece Brenda and grandniece Kiera Aoife.


Deeply mourned by his sister Rosemary Nolan (Matt), his brothers Sean (Mary), Frank (Anne) and P.J. (Barbara), his sister-in-law Dympna, his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, Bishop Most Rev. Martin Hayes and Bishop Emeritus Leo O’Reilly, his brother priests, parishioners of Killeshandra and Arva, people of the Diocese of Kilmore, St. Patrick's Missionary Society, Kiltegan Fathers, his relatives and his many friends.
