Cavan Roofing & Engineering design, fabricate and erect structural steel and cladding for the commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors. Founded by the Mc Ardle family the company has gained over 40 years' experience in fabricating and erecting structural steel as well as manufacturing quality roof and wall cladding systems. We are constantly developing our manufacturing facility in order to supply our customers with quality products in a timely and cost effective manner. Our materials are sourced from reputable suppliers who can guarantee quality, warranty and certification for the materials. Our experienced machine operators and coded welders manufacture CE approved structural steel and we can deliver nationwide. We always aim to not only ensure the highest standard of material is produced and installed, but also that your project maintains timelines and professionalism in its execution. Cavan Roofing & Engineering offer complete asbestos removal in commercial and residential properties. All work is done in accordance with industry legislation, and health and safety guidance. Project Progress Update – Home Bargains, Guernsey 🚧
We’re proud to share progress on the new Home Bargains store on Guernsey Island, where Cavan Roofing & Engineering delivered the full structural steel package.
Our scope included the design, fabrication, transport, and er****on of a 120-tonne structural steel frame, along with approximately 2,267 m of cold-rolled purlins.
All steelwork was fabricated at our facility in Cavan, transported via Portsmouth, and successfully shipped to Guernsey Island for on-site er****on — a great example of coordinated logistics and teamwork across borders.
Well done to everyone involved in bringing this project together 👏

🎄Christmas is coming… and so is Home Bargains to Guernsey! 🏗️
Our team is busy decking the halls – well, the building – and here’s what we’ve achieved so far:
💥 119.4 tons of steel – strong foundations for a festive future
📏 2,263 m (12.3 tons) of purlin & cladding rail – keeping everything perfectly aligned
🏢 2,327 m² of building area – taking shape beautifully

🎉 Exciting day for the Donabate community as the new ALDI store officially opens today!
Cavan Roofing & Engineering is proud to have played a key role in bringing this project to life. Our team designed, fabricated, and erected 130 tonnes of hot rolled steel and 15 tonnes of cold rolled steel (approx. 2,270m of purlins), and installed 1,800m² of metal decking to form the core structure of the roof. 🏗️
A standout feature of this build is the Soprema green roof, including 1,000m² of sedum 🌿—supporting enhanced biodiversity, improved insulation, and a more sustainable building footprint. 🌍
We also supplied and fitted aluminium powder-coated cappings and completed the project with 600m² of paving slabs from Kilsaran to create a fire break between the PV array and the main roof. ✔️
Huge credit to our team and project partners for delivering exceptional workmanship from start to finish. 👏 Great to see another project completed to the highest standard.
