We, the family of Kevin McCallion, wish to express our sincere gratitude to all of those who supported and sympathised with us on the recent, sad passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather.
To our extended family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues; your love, support and understanding during this difficult time and particularly during the course of Kevin’s illness is very much appreciated. To the countless number of people who cooked meals whilst we were caring for him, it helped us immeasurably. To all of Kevin’s friends and family who visited and supported him during his illness, your time and presence gave him great strength, it meant so much to him and to all of us.
To everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent sympathy cards, mass cards and flowers, to those who left messages of condolence online, and to those who made donations in Kevin’s memory to the Donegal Hospice, sincere thanks for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
Much appreciation goes to everyone, including local businesses who assisted during the wake, made tea and supplied food and refreshments. A special thanks to An Grianán Hotel for their kindness and for providing refreshments after the funeral.
We would like to thank the many healthcare professionals who cared for Kevin over the course of his illness. Sincere thanks goes to the staff of Letterkenny University Hospital and the staff of the Donegal Hospice.
A special acknowledgment to the staff of Castle Medical Practice and Healthwise Pharmacy Newtowncunningham and the nurses of the Community Intervention Team, who were always so caring, helpful and kind to Kevin, and to all of us.
Many thanks to Fr. Philip Kemmy for his support and prayers. Kevin really appreciated your frequent visits over the last two years.
To Fr. Oliver McCrossan and Kevin’s nephew, Rev. Stephen Baxter - thank you for the beautiful funeral mass.
Thank you to all our family and friends who participated in the mass by delivering readings, prayers of the faithful and to the pallbearers.
To Michael Doherty, and his accompaniments, thank you sincerely for the beautiful, emotive music you played so expertly at the funeral, it meant the world to us and we know Kevin would have loved it.
We would like to express our deep appreciation to Charlie Mc Clafferty Funeral Directors, in particular to Martin, Charlie & Jimmy for their kindness and professionalism during the wake and funeral.
To those who helped us in any way, your kindness is very much appreciated and will never be forgotten. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation.
Kevin’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday the 12th of September at 7pm in Church of All Saints, Newtowncunningham.
