Blessings to all the incredible women who have walked before me and who now walk alongside me, both personally and professionally ⭕️ I am reminded constantly in my work how incredibly fu***ng powerful we are and I bow in reverence and in service to that power today and every other day. You know things are bad when an Irish Obstetrician is saying we should be on the news for how bad our 2022 maternity care outcomes are. What will it take for the public to start having the same outrage?

The time to stop having blind faith in Obstetrical management of pregnancies is NOW!!!

Parents of Ireland, you’re being absolutely shafted with the care you are receiving in pregnancy and birth!! Publicly and Privately. The system is failing you and your babies. It’s also failing a lot of the staff working within these services who are gagged by contract & threat of career su***de to not speak out.

We are no longer improving outcomes, we are bringing huge short and long term risks to the health of you and your baby.

What will it take for a Nation to become furious once again for the treatment of mothers and babies in this country?? Because it all stems from the same place. Patriarchal control of women’s bodies & reproductive and parental choices. Please let it not be in hindsight 30years down the road. The parents of Ireland deserve so much better than this.

Please share this with any journalist you know because I’m not sure why there is such resistance to cover the STATE of our maternity services right now when they are so bad!! Every person in this country is BORN. It’s an every person issue.

🥳That’s a wrap Dublin!!🥳 Thank you all so much for welcoming me with open arms on my first in-person workshop in this neck of the woods!!

To think it was almost 9years ago that myself & Glen drove to Dublin for a GentleBirth workshop with Tracy Donegan on our first pregnancy with Clíodhna. We invested what little money we had at that time into that workshop and it seemed like such a extravagant spend! 🙈 We even camped overnight on Rush Beach to save on hotel costs!🏕 I can hand on heart say it was the greatest investment we ever made - not only for the 3 births that unfolded for me, us, our kids but also the path that led me here. Today the first couple that arrived into the room had travelled from Rush and it was such a beautiful moment of synchronicity reminding of where it began to where I am now🥰

Since 2020 the vast majority of my online workshops have been filled with Dublin folk so I’m absolutely delighted to finally connect, laugh and educate so many of you today! Looking forward to supporting you all into even greater confidence in the coming weeks through our EmpowerHours & Telegram chats ♥️ It doesn’t end here! 🙌🏻

𝗕𝗕𝗔 – 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 - refers to a birth occurring before arriving to hospital at home or roadside or before the midwives get to you, if homebirthing.

For some it could feel like a moment of sheer panic, chaos & lack of control but for this Mama, spending a pregnancy cultivating positive mindset, fine tuning and honouring intuition & instinct and continually enhancing her ability to remain calm, confident & in control – she was able to access a deep place of trust and power. What a incredible story, what an incredible Mama 😍 Thank you for gifting this story & photos into the world ♥️ It was honour to walk alongside you both on your path to power & reclamation ♥️🔥♥️

My GentleBirth workshops, education & continued support is all about preparing for the birth you want, stacking the odds in your favour to getting it but also preparing you for the birth you don’t expect, whether that’s a BBA or an unplanned cesarean. I always want the parents I support to feel calm, confident, connected and in control no matter what way labour & birth unfolds on the day.
