***Thank You Everyone***

🥇🏆 High Fidelity of Fidelity Investments were the overall winners at Choir Factor 2026 yesterday evening before an audience of 450 people in Saint Nicholas' Collegiate Church, Galway. The winners of the ‘Most Vibrant Choir’ award were ‘The Galway Simon Community Music Project’.

The event, in aid of the SCCUL Sanctuary, saw six choirs perform.

We are also immensely grateful to all the Choir Directors and the following choirs who put in huge performances:

🎤The Isobars Met Éireann
🎤Medtronic Harmonics
🎤The Galway Sings Ladies Choir
🎤The Peace Choir
🎤Our 'Guest Stars' The Parkinson’s Ireland Galway and Friends Choir.

As the judging panel of Helen Hancock, Dr Mark Keane and Andrew Chapple reminded us on the night, there was only one 'bad part' to the evening and that was having to pick category winners.

🎼🎹We would like to give a huge shout out to our incredible sponsors [see list in photos], MC Mr Daniel Beuster and our thirty-plus amazing volunteers along everyone who attended! We were bowled over by all the support over the last few weeks. Thank you everyone!

👉Introducing The Isobars directed by Aoife Murray, who will perform at Choir Factor this coming Saturday.

The choir will perform two pieces:

🎼 Ain't No Sunshine
🎼 Mr Blue Sky

In their words...

"The Met Éireann choir, ‘The Isobars’ was founded in early 2017 and is based at Met Éireann HQ in Glasnevin, Dublin. The choir is made up of staff from all over the organisation; from areas such as forecasting, observations and research. Choir members are a mix of shift-working, 9 to 5 and retired staff which means it can be challenging to organise rehearsals to suit everyone!

"The choir’s repertoire is comprised mostly of weather-related songs. Songs by the Beach Boys, The Stunning and AC/DC have all featured on the setlist. These have gone down a storm at various events such as the conference of the European Meteorological Society and previous Workplace Choir of the Year competitions.

"The Isobars perform an annual summer concert at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin and contribute to workplace events and projects, such as the Met Éireann podcast."

See you on March 7th!
