Death Notice :John (Dessie) Rooney

John (Dessie) Rooney, 31st January 2026 peacefully at Letterkenny University hospital.
Beloved husband of Eilish. Loving father of John, Melettia, Eamon, Michelle, Kayrena and the late Kevin.
Much loved grandfather and great grandfather.
Beloved son of the late Martin and Madge (formally of Pennyburn, Derry). Brother of Maureen, Ann, Madeline, Irene, Dermotte, Martin and the late Marjorie and Eamon.
Dessie's remains will arrive at M**f Border at 11am tomorrow (Sunday).
Dessie will then be reposing at his family home, 4 Green bank cottages F93 V6PO, Quigley's point formally Tullagh from 11.30am.
Funeral from there on Tuesday at 10am to St Mary's Church, Clonmany for requiem mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by all his family and everyone that knew him.
Family flowers only. If wished, donations in lieu to Oncology unit at Letterkenny University hospital c/o any family member.
Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

The death has taken place in Falkirk, Scotland after a short illness of Mary Doherty (Dick)
formerly Letter & Leenan, Clonmany, Co. Donegal,
Beloved wife of the late Patrick (Donal), a dearly loved and cherished mum to, Ellie, Ritchie (Deceased) Sarah Anne, Mary,
Fr Daniel, William, and Francis, also a nan and great nan who will be sadly missed by all the family.

Requiescat In Pace.

Funeral Mass on Monday 2nd February at 10am in St Francis Xavier's Church, Falkirk.
Funeral cortege will pass through Bridgend border on Tuesday 3rd February at approximately 12.30pm.

Wake Arrangements:
Tuesday 3rd February: 2pm until 10pm. Rosary at 8pm.
Wednesday 4th February: Family only please.

Funeral will leave her later residence (F93 W263) on Wednesday 4th February at 10.30am going to St Michael's Church, Urris, Clonmany,
F93 P086 for 11am Mass followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery

Remembering Pa**ie with Love.

We, the family of the late Pa**ie McConnellogue, Annagh, Clonmany, would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who sympathised with us on our recent bereavement.
We thank everyone who attended the wake and funeral from near and far, the priests who called and prayed with us at the house. To everyone who brought food, who helped with the parking, and to those who helped in so many different ways giving us wonderful support during the days surrounding the wake and funeral.
Thank you to Fr McDevitt and Father Haan for the beautiful funeral service, to Roisin & Seamus for the lovely music, to Breedge the sacristan for preparing the church, to all who helped with their involvement in the service and to the gravediggers.
Thank you to the management and staff of the Ballyliffin Hotel for the funeral meal.
Thank you to all who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards and messages of condolences for which we are truly grateful.
To Paddy & Sean at Comiskey Funeral Directors for their professionalism and compassion during the wake and funeral arrangements.

Acknowledgement

We, the family of the late Rosaleen McEleney, wish to express our sincere gratitude to all those who supported us following the passing of our much loved mother. We thank everyone who attended the wake and funeral from far and near, and all who sent mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers, and messages of condolences.

We would like to thank our family friends and neighbours for their help and support during the wake. We are especially grateful to the doctors and nurses in Letterkenny University Hospital, to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Clonmany Medical Centre, and to Brennans Pharmacy for all their care and help. Special thanks to all the carers who supported our mother over the past year.

Our sincere thanks to Father Haan and Father McDevitt for the beautiful funeral mass and prayers during the wake. Special thanks to Father Sweeney for his spiritual support during this time.

Our thanks also to Danny McCarron for the beautiful singing and music during the mass. We are sincerely grateful to Comiskey’s Comiskey Funeral Directors for their compassion and professionalism throughout the wake and funeral. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.

We the family of the late Damian McDonald, Tiernasligo, Clonmany wish to express our sincere thanks to all our family, neighbours and friends, to those who travelled to be with us for the wake and funeral. To those who helped in so many ways to numerous to mention.
We would also like to thank the oncology teams in Beaumont, Galway and Letterkenny University Hospital, for the care Damian received during his brief illness.
To Fr McDevitt, Fr Sweeney and Fr Haan, who visited Damian during his illness and also attended the wake.

We the family of the late Neil Gibbons, Ballyhallion, Clonmany, would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with us during our sad loss.
Thank you to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, from near or far, especially all who travelled long distance.
We are grateful for our family, friends, neighbours and local businesses who gave food, managed parking, or helped in any way during the wake.
Sincere thanks to Fr McDevitt, Fr Haans and Fr Sweeney for attending our home and saying prayers for Neil.
